Reviews of Dr. Mark Tomback, MD
"Came into the office with issues possible cervical cancer .. he handled me horribly... no patience no empathy, no ethical sensitivity... I don’t even understand how he is still in business. I would not recommend him AT ALLLL FOR ANYTHING!!"
"I love Dr. Mark Tomback, he's awesome he delivered both of my kids in 2017 and 2019. I just don't like the office to slow and always packed but hey it's the doctor office."
"Had my son in 2012 , I had an awesome experience with Ms. Sandria as my midwife & Dr.Tomback as my doctor. No complaints !"
"I had a baby back in 2008 and Dr tomback , mark gave me a cecerin/c section that really was not a good of a job i have been experiencing some of the most difficult times with my weight of my stomach it feels like a bag water sitting on me. Ive done sit ups going to the gym and walking and nothing works he cut into my body like cutting steak wrong off A BONE need the less to say i was only at the age of sixteen now in my twenty's i feel disgusted because these high price doctor or surgeon feel obligated to do another doctors job under strivful moments of being under pay from a colored patient receiving medicade or Medicare not realizing the damaged they scar a human being with problems in near future . i do not recommended no one to go to him that doesn't meet his coverage requirements i would rather learn to give natural birth at home"
"I would recommend Dr. Tomback to any woman who doesn't mind giving up their birth plan and being insulted. From the moment I was wheeled into Plantation General Hospital's maternity floor, Dr. Tomback welcomed us in by insulting my midwife in front of me, my family and the staff on the floor. He was very unprofessional by arguing with her instead of giving me medical attention, as I was in active labor. When I asked for his attention, he told the nurses to prepare me for a c-section. I told him there was no medical need for a c-section, I had only been in labor for 14 hours, and the baby's heart rate was fine. He compromised by allowing me to have the baby scanned for his weight, however his conditions were "if the baby weighs more than 8lbs 11oz, you will have a cesarean, if you don't like the way I do things, you can go to another hospital." I agreed to have the baby scanned, and his weight came under 8lbs, so I was "allowed" to try for a vaginal birth. I gave the doctor my birth plan, he glanced at it and gave it to the nurses. He told me that I basically couldn't have anything on that list. I requested not be offered Pitocin or any pain meds, to use my yoga ball, to relieve my back labor with a hot shower, to eat or drink as I pleased, and to walk around my room. All of those were denied by him and I was told I have to stay in my bed and I would be put on Pitocin. When I argued with him on these terms, he said, and I quote "You can't have the birth you imagined. You are not in Kansas anymore." I asked politely if he could speak to me a little nicer, as I had a long day, and I was in LABOR, and he gave me a sarcastic reply, which angered my midwife. She had to step in and tell him (politely) to back off. Then I had to ask him about pain management, as Pitocin would increase the intensity of my contractions. I basically had to pull teeth to get any basic information on my options, as he seemed reluctant to help me or offer me guidance. This man was SO RUDE to me and my midwife, that even my birth photographer was upset and tried to have him reported immediately. The director had to come in and apologize for his behavior. The only thing he did right that day was deliver my son (cesarean of course) in one piece."
