"FIND ANOTHER PRACTICE!!! I had the unfortunate luck of having Ada Farmer perform my second son’s circumcision August 2023 at Jupiter Medical Center. While the procedure went ok, their billing process that followed that has been an absolute nightmare. My husband and I both have Aetna Health insurance, and my plan has covered all of my medical expenses. I received an electronic notice a couple of weeks after leaving the hospital that I owed $500 for the circumcision service so I called Aetna to find out what the situation was they informed me that a few of the bills within the first month of the baby’s life needed to be billed to my husband’s Aetna plan instead of mine because his birthday was earlier in the year than mine. He proceeded to make the notation for those claims that had been denied but didn’t see the one for the circumcision. He said once the practice bills it he would connect the policies and make sure the service was paid since circumcision is covered at 100%. I called OBGYN’s office and informed them of this so they can notate the account. I didn’t hear back from the office but on Monday Jan 15(4 months later) I received a call from ACSI collection agency informing me the practice had put me in collections for non-payment. I was shocked since I thought this had been taken care of after I had taken the time during maternity leave with a newborn to call and address this months ago. So today, I called the OBGYN office and spoke to a woman on the line to try to clarify the situation. I told her how likely they had not billed the circumcision correctly since it probably needed to be billed to my husband’s insurance and that I would be happy to provide the information so they could get paid. She rudely replied that it is too late to do anything because it is already in collections and that it is my responsibility to pay the bill due to the contract I signed. The contract I signed said that I was responsible for anything not covered by insurance. However, if the practice didn’t bill it properly or had issues billing it is 100% up to them to call the patient for information they need. She told me that they didn’t even have the baby’s name which again for the 1st week of life is SUPER standard and billable regardless since the Pediatrician and Jupiter Medical Center all billed with “BabyBoy” and his date of birth. I told her if she didn’t want to help me then the bill could sit in collections then. I called the collection company and let them know I was disputing the bill. I then called Aetna to let them know the situation.. they searched and searched all claims and could not locate the $500 bill from Ada Farmer. The Aetna rep then advised it was best to do a 3 way call with the practice to figure out the situation. She called the practice and asked when the service was given and when it wa billed. The Obgyn billing agent then became very rude and said that they never billed it because they didn’t have the correct billing information(they always did) and didn’t have the baby’s actual name. When I tried to explain that the baby’s name was irrelevant for billing the first month of life she abruptly interrupted me and said “to our practice it is relevant like I already told you on the phone earlier and it was up to you to call us to give the name!” I told her the hospital updated the name and since the service happened at the hospital they could have called Jupiter Medical or me for the information and again she interrupted “it is YOUR responsibility to call us! WE are not going to call the hospital.” When I told her I DID call shortly after the baby was born she said “well we notate all our calls and I don’t see any record of you calling in my system!” She became so obscenely disrespectful to me(her practice’s patient) and the Aetna rep that I asked to be forwarded to the Practice Manager. She said “Yeah that’s fine.. here you go. GOODBYE!”. I ended up in Stephanie’s voicemail."
"unfortunately i would not recommend dr. farmer to any pregnant woman. i don’t like writing bad reviews but i have to in this case. i was swollen and had an unusual amount of weight gain throughout my pregnancy, especially because i am naturally thin and did not eat excessively at all. as it was my first pregnancy, i didn’t realize anything was wrong. it turns out i had pre-eclampsia which she was very cavalier and nonchalant about. i delivered at 37 weeks. i was still incredibly swollen, but was sent home from the hospital. 3 days later i could not breathe so my husband and i went back to the hospital, dragging my 3 day old with me to the emergency room. they did an X ray of my heart and lungs. i was in HEART FAILURE AND LUNG FAILURE caused by pregnancy, known as peripartum cardiomyopathy. dr farmer could have done a blood test to rule this out, but it went unnoticed my entire pregnancy and could have very easily killed me. i spent the next 4 days in the hospital alone- away from my husband and child, recovering. dr farmer wasn’t even aware i was re-admitted. so many missed red flags that i cannot forgive or look past. thankfully by the grace of God i was able to fully recover but lots of women aren’t as luckyZ i switched OB practices- i will never again go to OBGYN of the palm beaches. unforgivable."
"It’s been a year and I am still upset with how she treated me after having my baby. Sent me home with high blood pressure even though I delivered at 36 weeks with pre-e. I ended up back in the hospital for a magnesium drip. Before that I had a check up with her while my primary OB was out for the week. She told me I was all worked up for no reason and that my blood pressure was all my fault. Would I recommend her? That’s a hard no."
"Absolutely the worst beside manner I’ve ever experienced. Dr Farmer is giving OBGYN Specialists a bad name. I refuse to see her again and asked for a different doctor. She would not confirm my pregnancy even after a positive urine test and an ultrasound. I have never felt so bad at a time that should be the happiest of my life. I left her office in tears because she was so rude. After doing my research there are many other bad reviews that confirm I was just mistreated."
"I saw Dr. Farmer, among other doctors from the OBGYN Specialists of the Palm Beaches. Within 5 minutes of meeting her, she had become my favorite of all the doctors at the practice. With each progressing appointment, I was more and more comfortable and confident with her, and began requesting appointments with her specifically. When we found out that my baby was breach, Dr. Farmer went over all the options in detail, and we discussed them as a family and doctor. We decided on a scheduled C-section, and the date we chose happened to fall in Dr. Farmer's schedule. I was thrilled! Fast forward to our scheduled date, and Dr. Farmer was ready and seemed as excited as we were. She explained the entire process thoroughly, and answered any questions I had along the way. The procedure was quick, and my baby girl was born safely and quickly. I was sewn up and on my way to recovery quickly. My incision site healed quickly and with minimal scarring. I've read several of the comments on here, and many of them aren't quite fair. The 15-minute grave period is not an individual doctor's policy, but rather that of the practice. (I was told to reschedule with a different doctor because I was running late.) Yes, she has an accent that can be difficult to understand, but when asked to repeat herself, she is always willing. She was always very kind, patient, and thorough in each of our appointments. I have continued to see her nearly two years later. If we decide to have a second child, I'll schedule my C-section with her again. Thank you, Dr. Farmer, for the incredible care you have provided!"
