"Dr. Updike is as terrible as it gets. If you are experiencing physical or emotional pain from hormonal issues, she just stares at you blankly and says she can't do anything about it. Put me on birth control pills that didn't help and only caused more harm than good. When I asked about other potential treatment options, she literally said, "It's either birth control pills or pain" (even though I had been taking birth control pills for a long time already and was still undergoing a lot of pain). She really seems to have no understanding of human emotions. Anyway, after switching to a different gynecologist, I started an appropriate treatment (NOT birth control pills like Dr. Updike kept saying) and I no longer go through the horrible pain I was experiencing before. Do yourself a favor and see a doctor who genuinely cares and wants to help people. They are out there, but Dr. Updike is not one of them."
