"As an NYC/Broadway Dance Center transplant, it was really hard to find any sort of dance school in Miami, but thanks to Sun Kim in NYC, she referred me to J9 down here, and turns out J9 teaches at Cambio. J9 is an amazing hip hop dancer, and a wonderful teacher. Cambio is a really great place head up by another amazing dancer Cultura (who also teaches other classes at the school). Cambio is warm and welcoming, regardless of your level. However, be forewarned: the classes are advanced. I, on the other hand (haha) am not advanced. As long as you're willing to grin and bear the fact that beginners will NOT be able to keep up, you will be fine. Sometimes I just stay in the corner and work on one or two of the moves, because I just can't remember them all. If you're upper intermediate or advanced, you'll feel much more comfortable. But I still manage to have a good time. My two suggestions along the above lines are to do what they do at BDC: 1) always do the same routine two weeks in a row. This way, we can 'learn it' the first time, and then 'learn it again' the second week. 2) Have a Beginner/Intermediate class for each style, and also the current Advanced class. Or, perhaps set up four-week workshops every month that are for beginners, in each style. In any case, if you want to learn some street styles, Cambio is the place to go. Oh, parking: there are side streets. It looks sketchy, but it's safe. No one will bother you or your car."
