"I have used this service for years, but this recent experience is completely disappointing and unacceptable. Went through Gotta Have It and started a policy on 10/27…. Unfortunately, I was involved in an accident the next and was responsible for the damage to my car being that the accident was my fault and I only had the basic/required Florida coverage. I ended up having the car scrapped and sold it to the junk yard. After getting a new car, I attempted to use my existing policy and swap out the old car (being that the old car was totaled) and add the new car to the policy. I was told by the insurance company (First Acceptance) that they are not able to insure cars newer than a 2018. After finding a new policy, I called (First Acceptance) to try and cancel the existing policy. I was told that I would have to contact the agency that started the policy in order to cancel. IT HAS BEEN NEARLY THREE WEEKS AND THIS POLICY HAS STILL NOT BEEN CANCELED!!!! I’ve called multiple times and spoke with Michelle who continues to make promises to look into the situation and call back to tell me what I need to do. HOWEVER, SHE NEVER CALLS BACK!!!! Michelle told me that I being that the policy is less than 60 days old, I’m order to cancel I would either have to show proof of insurance (on the sold/totaled car) or go to the dmv and surrender my tag. Just got in contact with (First Acceptance) and explained the issues I was having with the insurance agency. I was then sent a form to sign in order to cancel the policy directly through the insurance agency. Either the people at (Gotta Have It) have been intentionally prolonging the cancellation, or they are completely incompetent. At this point, I believe it may be a bit of both.. Anyway, after emailing the signed forms, hopefully this process will be completed. But as far as the service from Gotta Have It in this particular situation, I am completely disgusted with the whole agency!"
