"I was in between jobs and went to Miami Beach for a vacation. I am a white belt and was hoping to improve my jiu jitsu during my stay so that I could go back to Virginia with some new techniques in my arsenal. After looking around at the jiu jitsu options in the area I came across Master Jorge’s gym and decided it was the best possible fit. I am very glad I made that decision!!! Master Jorge is a Rickson Gracie coral belt who teaches strong fundamentals that can be used not only on the mats but also in situations of self defense. In jiu jitsu I have heard some say “the water is purest closest to the source” and this is definitely the case with this gym. In addition to the lessons taught during my training here, Master Jorge also has some pretty cool stories dating back to the early days of bjj while growing up with the Gracies. Bernardo, one of his purple (now brown!) belt students, was a great teacher who went out of his way to teach adjustments to my game that will go a long way in helping me improve. Everyone at the gym was very welcoming but also strong to train with during rolls. I look forward to returning to VA and implementing all I’ve learned during my time here. And plan to be back! Highly recommend."
