"Hello PHP-- I went to this place after a failed suicide attempt and two weeks in the mental hospital. As of now, I am almost fully recovered and no longer suffer from intense feelings of depression. I went here for a few months, in the beginning I was told it would be 6 weeks. All of the patients there were there longer than 6 weeks, all of us stayed months. So if you are going to send your child here, be aware that it's going to be longer than expected. The front desk staff were incredible and extremely sweet. I have no issues with them at all. Former therapist Henri helped me greatly but Ive heard he was switched to another establishment. Therapist Della didn't help me as much as I was hoping and her form of Cognitive Therapy didn't work on me, despite me telling her I needed a different type. Putting a bunch of mentally ill teenagers in the same room and expecting them to get along may sound like a decent idea but once executed it was terrible. Some of us felt like this was a experiment to see how it would turn out. Two patients there abused me mentally and regardless of my constant complaints and breakdowns, almost nothing was done about this. Also, please note, (this may have changed since I've been there), the old folks also get help here. I was harassed by one of them every single day because he thought I was sexy. At the time, I was a minor. Other than that, I still talk to a very few amount of people from there and most of the staff is very very caring. I felt safe with most of them. There are bi-weekly drug tests which I didn't have an issue with. However I do have an issue with the manager of the place, my father talked to him about multiple people harassing me and the manager tried to brush it off as if nothing wrong was happening. He also said he'd take care of it and he did not. At times, my mental health felt way worse than when I started. If you're thinking of sending your mentally ill child here, please take note that there will be an issue at some point but overall, your child may make some friends and enemies."
"noooo! this star is for the wonderful drivers that distracted me and spoke with me through every issue i had, they were by far better than my therapist, stayed there for 5 months, i only got better once they kicked me out of the program. the kids there are okay, but group therapies are so out of control. like wdym i was left out of my own therapy? wdym you only got 15 minutes worth of individual sessions a week because your therapist decided to share your session with another kid? wdym i had to share a session with two therapists that were literally fighting me and looking at eachother like they just finished a makeout sesh. what do you mean that when i was sobbing uncontrollably, the only person there for me was a front desk worker or a driver☠️ honestly this place was so much better before all the changes they did."
"DO NOT take your child there. They are horrific. A patient was abused by another patient there and the whole team of professionals tried to cover up the incident."
"Highly recommend! I was in the PHP program for over 3 months for Alcoholism and Depression. This was my 1st time in any type of therapy and it worked. Della was my main therapist - she was wonderful - truly gifted - dedicated and kind. Juliana and Monik ran many of the groups in which I participated - again they were excellent - both caring and supportive:) Sara ran groups and was also the family counselor for myself and my husband - we cannot say enough good things about her - her thoughtful and deep understanding helped save a 40+yr marriage. I interacted with so many of the staff with greatly positive results - Alfred, Luis, Jaime (thank you so much) Anthony - ALL of the staff at the front desk - Tati (Tatiana who cares for everything and everyone). This organization became like family to me and the result was the best part - I got better! Of course, everyone should do their due diligence when looking for a provider of mental health services - I did - and I highly recommend Improving Lives Now. MY life is much much better:)"
