Reviews of Dr. Syeda N. Sultana
"I'm kinda shock with the rudeness and unprofessional staff. My parents are from an older generation, so they went to the office to personally to setup an appointment. The front desk so rude and didn't either care. My parents called me to help login online and I'm shocked that they dismissed them like that. I understand that the Psychotic services is difficult and challenging with people with various problems. But to be this unhelpful with elderly people cause they aren't tech savvy. I just don't understand Why?"
"This is a SCAM, and you should not use this "medical professional" ever. They charged my credit card for copays I didn't have. They have refused to refund them. I can't believe a medical office would behave in this manner. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism with a doctor's office."
"I would 100% highly recommend Dr. Sultana to anybody looking for a psychiatrist in the Central Florida area. - - - I would say some of these 1 star reviews are definitely true, sometimes it can feel that she is slightly judgmental, and to absolutely no offense to Dr. Sultana, but I feel that is just accents clashing; Dr. Sultana is a highly educated doctor in her practice. She always keeps up with the latest news in psychiatric medicine and has helped me tremendously with my anxiety. As well as that, to my understanding, Dr. Sultana listens to her patients and is not condescending in any way at all like other doctors can sometimes be. The first time I met Dr. Sultana, she was as caring as a therapist, while still having the reliability and rapport of a psychiatrist. When you look on Dr. Sultana's website, it says that "she then combines her training and experience, along with logic, common sense … to provide accurate, informed and caring guidance and treatment." This statement could not be more true. What I think Dr. Sultana did is combined the by the book method with pure common sense and logic, forming an amazing approach to her practice. If you are only looking for a purely by-the-book-methodical approach of psychiatry, I must admit, perhaps Dr. Sultana is not the right doctor for you, however; if the psychiatrists/ psychiatry nurse practitioners you've been too so far haven't worked out, I urge you to go to Dr. Sultana for a consultation. If you do not believe that Dr. Sultana cares about her patients and does not care for her practice, please read my next sentence carefully. Dr. Sultana once asked me what I wanted to be when I was older; I said I wanted to be a physicist; she next said I could perhaps be a medical physicist, somebody who makes MRI's and such. It wasn't the fact that she had said I could become a medical physicist purely that had surprised me so much, but the fact that she works in the medical field and had told me that. Even the first time I met Dr. Sultana, I left her office feeling like a new person; I felt incredibly motivated to do exactly what I needed to do. To say that Dr. Sultana is an extremely qualified and good psychiatrist, is true, but is an understatement. Dr. Sultana explains things in such a certain way that you understand them and process them in a motivational and inspirational way. Dr. Sultana is also incredibly proactive in stopping medication hazards. I once saw that she had the DSM-5-TR laying on her desk, with tons of bookmarks in it; then another day another psychology book, another, then another. Dr. Sultana will proceed with a logical amount of precaution, and even if she does get it wrong (which there is always room for human error), she will generally respond the same day to calls and fix the medication. You may have some trouble with getting certain medication during your time with Dr. Sultana, but this is for your own good, trust me. Dr. Sultana does this because she is not a risk-taker, and stays within the range of near-completely safe medicine, while still treating mental illnesses with the correct medicine. - - - To conclude, Dr. Sultana is a highly qualified doctor and you should 100% go to her if you are looking for a slightly different approach that works amazingly, but still within the normal spectrum."
"After reading these reviews, I’m so glad I didn’t get to book an appointment with dr sultana. After completing the new patient form online, they asked my for my card info over the phone, I was busy at work so I had no time to do so. I was told by dr sultana that they are opened on weekdays from 9-5. So I called them back the following day, no answer and no call back. I called them multiple times throughout the past 4 days and still no answer. It seems as if they only accepted my call to have my card info over the phone, but when I couldn’t go over it at that time because I was at work that day, now I’m no longer important enough to call back, especially these past 4 days. Very unprofessional."
"***STAY AWAY FROM THIS DOCTOR*** **PLEASE READ** I've been to Dr.Sultana's practice for more than a year now. Initially, I thought she was effectively treating me. She's been prescribing me medication meant to maintain my "stability". However, the major issue with Dr.Sultana is that she didn't actively bother in investigating the root cause of my psychiatric issue, Sultana is doing what she can to stay in practice at this point. Probably because there are tons of patients withdrawing from her practice, which explains why she is one of the very few doctors in Orlando open to accepting patients on a daily basis. She truly doesn't know what she's doing. Dr.Sultana diagnosed me with bipolar disorder. Mind you she didn't acquire my behavioral records nor did she effectively engage in collateral communication to provide an accurate diagnosis. If Dr.Sultana was truly passionate about her job, she would've requested me to disclose my medical records to her, let alone actively acquire my medical records from the behavioral hospital. This whole time I thought she had my entire behavioral records to base her diagnosis. The only thing she received was my discharge summary. She never told me she didn't have full access to my behavioral records, instead she just blindly misdiagnosed me. She labeled me with a disorder that doesn't make sense, and I reiterated that to her multiple times, but she is too stubborn to listen to my concerns. I was misdiagnosed for an entire year, taking unnecessary medication. More importantly, she never gave me a thorough explanation regarding my diagnosis. I went to an alternative psychiatrist with a prestige reputation, she told me that Dr.Sultana didn't have substantial evidence to diagnose me with bipolar disorder let alone place me on medication for the long term. Additionally, the "evidence" she's basing her diagnosis on is insufficient, especially when you're placing a patient on medication for the long term. I wasted an entire year with Dr.Sultana in hopes of controlling a chronic symptom that's been getting in the way of my life and she failed to do so. Dr.Sultana is doing the bare minimum to remain in practice. She claims to have over 30 years of experience, but please be aware that quality matters more than quantity, and this notion is especially true regarding my experience with Dr.Sultana. On another note, the location of her office is very questionable, it's disgusting and unsettling. If her business was TRULY successful her office would've been at a more appealing location."
