"6/24/2017 From my yelp review: I just received in the mail a letter from Elizabeth Lawrence, Medical Director, whom I've never met, telling me, she is "no longer able to continue as your healthcare provider". Turley is owned by BAYCARE MEDICAL GROUP, which I did not fully realize at the time. Also, since I first posted I received a certified letter from BAYCARE MEDICAL GROUP, advising none of their 5,000 plus physicians would provide medical care to me either. Also, that includes 14 hospitals, urgent care centers, and various other "BAYCARE" facilities. So where does that leave me, should I ever need to call 911 for instance? ELIZABETH LAWRENCE IS A MEDICAL DOCTOR, LICENSE #ME90411, BUT SHE SEEMS TO HAVE FORGOTTEN HER PROFESSION AS A DOCTOR. INSTEAD SHE'S WRITING AS "MEDICAL DIRECTOR", WHICH MEANS SHE'S IN CHARGE OF THE FINANCES, AND DEALS WITH ANY THREATS TO ....THE FINANCES. CHRONIC LYME DISEASE IS A THREAT, BECAUSE SO VERY MANY HAVE THIS BUT ARE NOT BEING PROPERLY TESTED AND TREATED, AND THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW IT, SOME OF THEM. IT'S A SHAME. The letter has no address, or phone number, and she forgot to include the "release of records" form she said she enclosed. So, what healthcare? I saw Dr. Gerard Cua twice. I was given no exam, other than "take a deep breath". He is quite young and a resident, and I believe has the potential to be a very good doctor, BUT he must do as his superiors say. I'm in pain, am fatigued to a debilitating level, and now even more depressed than ever. When does this abuse stop? I was told to "start a food diary" twice after I shared in writing and in person symptoms I've had for five years, and that I've only sought medical treatment for the last year. I am very sick. My symptoms fit a clinical diagnosis of chronic lyme disease. I have had two abnormal lung x-rays and still no one will order a CAT scan, MRI, or other, to try and determine what is wrong. Office staff play "hot potato" and phone tag to avoid replying to my request for more tests.I mean, is it out of style for doctors to try and discover the cause of patient's symptoms? There are thousands of diseases and infections I could have. Why is Blue Cross Blue Shield paying these to do nothing more than process paperwork? I feel like I am living in a third world country in Pinellas county. This place should have its license yanked. If I live, I may see to it. ***Sonja C.: A direct message? To where? I have received nothing and I have no interest in further discussion. I'm sick, and I'm tired. The letter from "medical director". not "medical doctor", which Elizabeth Lawrence is, was the most disingenuous, pathetic form letter I have ever read. It made me feel absolutely worthless. Lawrence never treated me, never saw me. Your center is part of the Lyme fraud, pure and simple. I may or may not have chronic lyme disease, just the fact that I was pursuing a real diagnosis, that might actually reveal Lyme and/or co-infections, was enough to put the brakes on. There is financial loss in diagnosing chronic lyme disease, but gain in treating the symptoms and putting patients through the carousel of "specialists" at Turley. Oh, I already found another primary care doctor because you see, I actually want to live, and not be just a source of revenue and perhaps research for your center. THIS MUST BE ANOTHER "FORM" ANSWER TO PATIENTS, LIKE MYSELF, TO WHOM TURLEY CAN GIVE NO LOGICAL ANSWER TO, BUT TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE TURLEY ACTUALLY CARES AND RESPONDS PROACTIVELY TO PATIENT COMPLAINTS, THEY POST A REPLY THAT, AS OF NOW, HAS NOT AN OUNCE OF TRUTH TO IT. GO FIGURE."
