"I am a cash patient, stared seeing Dr. Sanford a year or so ago. Things started out great he was helping me figure out my health issues, which I had several that needed to be addressed, and Things were improving. A few weeks ago I suffered a severe injury to my side, went to ER and was admitted immediately into the hospital. I was very scared it was my first time ever having to stay in a hospital. I was kept in hospital for 5 days until being released into my doctors care. (Dr. Sanford). At this time the left side of my mid section had turned black from the internal bleeding of a Hematoma. The injury was close to my diaphragm, I was in intense pain with every breath like having broken ribs it's what it's compared to. Dr. Sanford wrote me something very mild for the pain and told me directly, that if it did not work to call him back and he would do something different, I called 3 times over a period of 5 or more days and nothing was done. I received a phone call from the Dr office finally today. They said there was nothing they could do, and just recommend the ER again, which I've already done. Then the nuse proceeds to tell me that he will not. And does not prescribe pain pills. He left me in agonizing pain that I'm still having to go through. It's hard to believe a doctor would make someone endure something like this and refuse to help, forcing me as a cash patient to go to ER with no insurance, absolutely ruining my finances, because he would not treat me...I did not trust doctors to begin with, that's why I never go to one. Now I definitely don't trust them. What kind of health provider would make a person suffer like this. Had so many sleepless nights in agonizing pain, with my wife by my side crying her eys out because there was nothing she could do to help. Bless her heart she had to go to work everyday worried, with no sleep. Which at our age is a very hard thing to do. Needless to say I will not be returning, and have to look for alternatives to treat myself, which seems very unsafe, but I have no choice. Very upsetting and disappointed that I couldn't get help from my Dr. I've been lucky most of my life to have pretty good health, and when it comes time that I actually need a doctor, I was let down by one. I'm sure Dr. Sanford is a good person, but really dropped the ball in helping me with this problem.....I was scared to death that this may kill me, or permanently damage me.. and got no assistance. Also took 3 day after I got out of hospital just to get an appointment with him....the whole situation was one of the worst and scariest things I've ever been though."
