"Bend the Bao is a foodie fast food dream. A blend of flavors that taste like they were put together by a chef looking to delight patrons with a fresh take on bao. Wish it was a franchise. If you like fun flavor combos, I recommend you try it. Also serves yummy boba."
"We ordered the duck bao and the pork belly bao. The pork belly was excellent, and the addition of peanuts added a fun texture and sweetness. This bao was a hit. The duck bao was okay to meh. Like others, we found it to give the impression of seafood. Not that it tasted fiahy, but it was reminiscent of general seafood. Stranger still, it didn't come across as heavy with fish sauce or oyster sauce; just like we were eating seafood. I personally would not order this again. For anyone with seafood or shellfish allergies or sensitivities, I recommend asking for an ingredient list prior to ordering the duck bao, just to be on the safe side. The "seafoodiness" may be coincidental, but I know I was not expecting that from my duck bao. Service was okay, we ordered for table delivery not knowing that the area forntable delivery extended just to the front of the stand. Given that the tables have different color QR Code stickers, adding the color QR information to the ordering screen would help alleviate confusion."
"I'd give the food maybe 2.5, service 2 (maybe 1), and atmosphere 3-4. The Bao was cooked very well and was good. The filling was barely there. Very little brisket or duck in them. Basically a pinch of meat stuck in the top. I asked for light onion and the guy at the register rolled his eyes and didn't enter my request. The brisket was just ok, not great. The duck (as mentioned in another review) kind of had a light fishy taste, or maybe it was the sauce. The duck was definitely better than the brisket, but neither were amazingly great. I had high hopes for this place but it was ok at best."
"The bao were delicious and came out pretty fast but on the pricier side. The service however, was not great. The person at the register, Joey I think his name was, was not very attentive and was having side conversations while I was waiting for him to hand me my order and while taking my order."
"Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience here. My interest was piqued very much at the discovery of a bao restaurant in City walk. I have been to others (Unfortunately now out of business) that were absolutely fantastic in quality. I found the food here (tried the duck and the Korean fried chicken) to be extremly small portions for the price, quality to not be as top notch as I'd expect, and the flavor pairings of meats and topping were a bit chaotic on my palate and overall not enjoyable. Hopefully they can turn it around because I absolutely love the idea of small bites options at city walk for snacks or sharable with friends or family. It could be a great niche option."
