Reviews of Dr. Edward C. Grendys, Jr. - Florida Gynecologic Oncology
"If I could rate a 0 I would The staff very rude Lack of communication lack of empathy What ever happened to compassion In general healthcare is not how it once was It’s all about money Shame on you shame on your staff"
"I typically don't write reviews BUT I felt the need to for Dr. Edward Grendys. I have had two procedures with him now, both smooth and seamless with minimal scaring. Dr. Grendys' bedside manner is unbeatable; he has held my hand and walked me through every step. Before my situation, I never had a major surgery and was a literal mess. He calmed my nerves and explained everything to me (for both procedures). He is thorough and a subject matter expert. I won't wish someone the need to visit his office, but if you do- you are in GREAT HANDS. Thank you, Dr. Grendys! My family and I appreciate you more than you'll ever know."
"I rarely post a review. You run into the pharmacy for tooth paste and it seems like an email soliciting a stellar rating follows. As a grateful patient, this positive review is deserving and important to share with other women out there in need of a hysterectomy. You have nothing to fear. Take charge of your health and do everything in your power to prepare ahead of time so your spirit and body are in ideal condition: nutrient-rich diet, vitamin C, no alcohol, well-hydrated, etc. Stay positive. Most important of all, choose your surgeon wisely! I listened to YouTube stories of lengthy recoveries. One woman said she could not manage to stand up straight 3 weeks post-op, which prepared me for the same possibility with my own recovery. Yet there was surprisingly little pain. In fact, I only took one Tylenol and rested the day after my procedure, took a shower day two and was able to walk my dogs by day five post-op. Friday was one week post op; I felt almost 100% back to normal. It has now been ten days and I feel like I could swim laps, but obviously that would be dumb….point is, I feel that great! It’s important to relax and know it takes time for internal stitches to heel. I will take care not to disturb them. I have zero discomfort, but those stitches must be in there even though I would never know it. I expected the worst and it has been a cakewalk. This is undoubtedly due to minimal incisions; no damage to surrounding soft tissue and structures. That takes serious surgical precision and skill! Whatever damage did result from snipping out my ovaries, fallopians, uterus and cervix was so neatly stitched that my healing process has been as quick and painless as is humanely possible. To anyone in need of a hysterectomy, do your homework and go to the best: Dr. Edward Grendys. He is the master! I was especially concerned about prolapse after reading it happens to about half of us. Pelvic floor weakness is supposedly the cause of prolapse...however, I am guessing Dr. Grendys’s skillful removal techniques and clever stitching makes prolapse way less probable than half of his patients. Good health and blessings to all."
"Receptionist Tammy is the rudest and most unkind person to answer the phone in a cancer office. A mistake was made and an urgent solution was needed to rectify my care. Voice-mail answered at the end of the day or next day was her solution. Not a humane way to treat people already going through something awful."
"He is quick to do surgery with very little planning. A surgery that would take any cancer institute 12 hours to perform correctly, he does in 2 hours. Another institute described his surgery as "suboptimal debulking." I wanted to like him, but I have very little respect for any provider that fails to do an exam after surgery, reach out to other colleagues for assistance with treatment plans fail, and worst of all, a provider who lacks the compassion to ask a patient if they have family in the waiting room before saying in the exam room, "I have nothing left to offer you but hospice.""
