"I have a ton of PTSD from my sons delivery with this doctor. In office she was kind and seemed caring. Induction day, she was completely different. I felt rushed and extremely uncomfortable. She would do things without explaining like breaking my water. She went in for a cervix check and just decided to use her hands to aggressively break my water and told me after the fact that she was doing it. That was the beginning of it. I then expressed my concerns with pitocin and how I didn’t want to surpass a certain dosage. After several upsetting encounters my husband became upset which I believe deterred her from coming into the room as frequently as she was prior to him becoming noticeably upset and protective of me. The nurses would come in and then up the pitocin without telling us, they would come in to “check the monitors”. Keep in mind I was high risk and had preeclampsia diagnosis the minute I walked into the hospital. I have a deviated uterus and was determined to be guided for a vaginal delivery. After almost 24 hours she came in the room and made the comment that I needed to progress faster because her shift was ending soon. WHAT?! Absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable. Several times she wanted to check me for dilation and in no way shape or form was she gentle or caring. The whole induction with her was stressful and nothing like what I imagined my first delivery would be like. Almost 30 hours later, another doctor arrived from the practice and confirmed it was time to deliver via c section after pushing for three hours with a nurse by my side. Not Dr. Bethancourt. I’m so disappointed and dissatisfied with this doctor. What a heartbreaking experience that I’ll never forget. I wouldn’t recommend her to anyone."
