Freedom Boat Club - Lake Dora: Tavares Marina

"I have been trying to book a bass boat and ever since you closed howie in the hills and got rid of most of the bass boats it's difficult to get one. Bass fishing is coming to apeak here in Florida and it's hard to fish without a trolling motor. I am also having a hard time scheduling a boat for the weekend I had a reservation for Sunday and only had 2 points used for some reason I wasn't able to get the following Saturday. Did the reservation system change? Some of my friends in the club didn't even know Howie in the hills closed until I told them. I found out from the dock workers. Poor communication. So are we getting more bass boats? It also seems that we have less boats on the chain of lakes."

"I want to mention that Rick was a very amazing person. He really went above and beyond for my guests. He was very knowledgeable and he made the experience very personal. However, my experience on Saturday with Keith was totally different. I feel like he needs to be talked to about his customer service. I was very disappointed, but at the end of the day Rick really made up for his poor customer service"

"We had a wonderful day in Mount Dora. We were able to experience several of the lakes, and did the Dora canal which was amazing. Captain Rick gave us great suggestions for a perfect day on the water. Thank you, Rick."

"Update 7/7/23: We have been out a couple times from this dock over the last couple of weeks. David has been extremely kind and helpful! Just really wanted to give him a shout out. He was fantastic with my wife and I last week and then again yesterday when we brought along a friend and her son. Original Post: This was our first time going out of the Lake Dora location. Got there at 7am and JT had the boat all set up for us. He was very friendly and helpful, and it made for a great start for us. We actually saw manatees for our very first time on the chain of lakes - about 8 of them, and they were hanging out around our boat right before we went into the lock in Haines Creek. Of course we shut off the motor and trimmed the prop, and I even used a small net to row us into the lock to keep the manatees all safe. When we returned a few hours later we were greeted by JT and a couple other FBC members. Just another great experience with FBC!"

"This was our second time out of the Lake Dora location and it was once again a great experience. The two dockhands were very kind and helpful (I believe the one staff member's name was Dan) and we truly appreciated it, especially after how we had been treated earlier that morning by a staff member at the Lake Eustis location. I won't go into details on Lake Dora's page regarding how disappointed we were with what happened at the other location - I will just say a HUGE thank you to the Lake Dora FBC guys for helping me to salvage the morning for my wife, as it was the start of her Birthday celebration and this was the very first thing she had hoped to do. Great staff, easy location to get in and out of, gorgeous scenery and always a ton of wildlife to see."
