With a team of 21 sworn law enforcement officers and 13 civilian personnel, FGCU University Police operates three divisions including an Investigations Unit, Community Relations Unit, and Patrol Unit. The department also houses a 24-hour Dispatch Center, Records Manager, Training Unit, Internal Affairs, Parking Services, and Accreditation.

In addition to promoting crime prevention and ensuring the safety of both vehicle and pedestrian traffic, the University Police Department collaborates with various departments and local law enforcement agencies to issue campus alerts and notices promptly in the event of a serious or continuing threat to the campus community.
