Pasco-Hernando State College Porter Campus at Wiregrass Ranch

"This is my first semester attending Pasco Hernando after attending a previous college on the east coast. This semester i was told that they switched to online books and nobody knew any information about it. I’ve seen advisors hoping they could help me access the books that i paid for online that now comes out of tuition and i cannot access the books, and we are halfway through the semester. They took my money and i have had no books for 4 of my classes as i am full time. Disappointed that the principal of the school didn’t educate anyone about this new cite that they wanted to use, and I know every student in my class is having the same issue. in that aspect it’s very unorganized. On the other hand all i enjoy all of my professors and the advisors at Pasco are so very sweet and helpful."

"I worked at the Wiregrass Ranch campus under the leadership of Provost of Dr. Davina Jones.This is an amazing campus and I would highly recommend continuing your education there. Unfortunately, I left due to no support from the main campus in Newport Richey(Financial Aid District and Directors)but I was so honored to work for the Wiregrass Financial Aid Department. There are people in the student support services office that truly care about your education including Dr. Alexandra Yanovski and her staff!"

"I attended the campus open house. I see the way that the campus is run, and seems very efficient. Beautiful college, a staff that truly cares! Set in Wesley Chapel area with ample parking and services like the library."

"Most of my professors are amazing, they care about their students and truly love teaching. The classrooms are very nice and comfortable, so is the campus overall (very cozy and beautiful). The librarians are the BEST here! I come to the library to study and complete homework and all of them always make an effort to greet students and always help with an issue. A few librarians helped me with a struggle in my micro apps class and went above and beyond to solve the computer application problem. The sweetest people ever. I always love coming to the library. The book selection is nice too if you’re looking for classic lit and some new fiction, more and more seem to be added each time I visit :) My one issue with PHSC porter is that the people I’ve met working in the advising building have never really been friendly :(. I never look forward to going because most of them I’ve had to interact with aren’t very welcoming and they treat students like a chore. They bark at you for not signing into the computer properly, barely make eye contact. I wish they were warmer and more helpful, most of the time they direct you to go home on zoom and wait for a few hours. I’ve heard the same thing from many other students too. I hope that will change as Porter campus continues to grow because a welcoming, cozy and kind office with people who want to help would be an exceptional addition to this school."
