Reviews of Dentistry for Children: Dr. Tarver, Dr. Scheps & Dr. Bopp
"I would like to thank Dr . Eva Dupay who attended with much love and dedication to my two children in this clinic. Marie and Jo were so happy that they wanted to come back the next day to the clinic. She is very professional and caring with the children and I recommend her 100%."
"My daughter was taken in for her check up and cleaning where I was told that everything was fine. Fast forward two months and her tooth breaks. She now has 4 teeth that need caps and when I called in they told me she would not allow them to take the proper X-rays. I am upset with the lack of communication. As a parent I would have appreciated being made aware that she was not getting the right X-rays so that her teeth would have never gotten as bad as they are now. I feel like when we trust our children to go in the back by themselves they could at least complete the exam."
"My daughter had an appointment with Dentistry for Children at 9:00am 12/19/2023. She was scheduled for an X-ray and teeth cleaning. My daughter and I were called to the consultation area around 9:30am where I signed paperwork for the procedures. The dental tech asked if I was comfortable with my daughter going into the back area (where cleaning and x-rays are performed) without me. Apparently, this is a procedure Dentistry for Children does to make children more comfortable with going to the dentist. She explained to me once the X-Ray and teeth cleaning are complete, I would be pulled from the lobby to meet with the doctor to review the x-rays and ask questions. Against my better judgement I agreed and watched as the dental tech walked to the back area with my daughter. Once I saw the door close behind them, I walked to my car to drop my daughter’s jacket off. I came back into the lobby a couple minutes later to find my 2-year-old daughter sitting in the lap of a stranger. I come to find out that my daughter was standing in the lobby hallway crying and the stranger was the only one to comfort her. Next, I question the receptionist to find out what is going on and she has no idea. So, she calls to the back area and another dental tech comes out to take us to the teeth cleaning room. At this point in time no employee was aware that my daughter was missing. The dental tech had no reasoning or explanation as to how my 2-year-old daughter was able to leave out of the “secured” back area, walk through a “secured” door and into the lobby without anyone noticing she was gone. It was like this happens all time. Prior to my daughter being called to the back area, I sat in the lobby and watched as each child’s dental procedure was complete the assigned dental tech would walk the kids into the lobby and call for the parents to get their child. Why was this procedure not followed with my child? No one at this facility was concerned with the safety of my child. Finally, another tech approaches me and tells me she not sure how my daughter got back into the lobby. She tells me the door is too tall for her to open it by herself. I’m writing this review to warn other parents about this dentistry practice. Dentistry for Children needs to have the appropriate party reach out to me and explain to me how this happened. I need to know who was responsible for transporting my child during the x-ray and teeth cleaning and how they left my child unattended. There are cameras at this facility, and I would like to review the footage as my child was unattended for an unexplained amount of time. This situation was completely unacceptable and frightening as my child could have been kidnapped or injured while in the care of Dentistry for Children."
"I was a patient here as a child around 15 years ago. I was going to get two cavities filled. The staff told my mom it shouldn’t take more than an hour and did not inform her of them giving me any sedation for the procedure. Also, they did not allow parents back at the time and I’m seeing from reviews that they still do not. I truly believe this is for a reason and not a good one. From what I can remember, there was absolute chaos in the back where the kids were. There were kids physically fighting each other and nothing being done about it. This terrified me as a kid. I was laid down on a table with a movie playing above it. I remember feeling super weird and falling asleep a few minutes into the movie. After the procedure I woke up and light headed and not right. They brought me back to my mom and sister. My mom said this took almost 4 hours and when she would ask what was going on and if she could see me, no one could tell her and no one would let her back. They did not inform her of them sedating me but she could tell I was not myself once we got in the car. She took me to Wendy’s to get a frosty since my mouth hurt and I was upset. About 30 minutes later I threw it up. She called the clinic and they had no answer for her but said nausea can be normal. My mom never took my sister or I back to this office. As someone who is now in my 20s I think about this often. Why did it take so long? What did they give me? What happened when I was knocked out? I remember almost everything from that day- to the movie that was playing and the color of the chairs. But I do not remember anything after I knocked out. I have gotten a cavity filled since then as an adult and know that this experience is not normal and should not be normal. As this was 15 years ago, I was hoping things have changed. However, after reading the other one star reviews, it does not seem like things have changed. This is something I think about almost every day and need to share it. Parents please think twice before bringing your kids here."
"Took my son in for an appointment on Monday and I am happy with Dr. TARVER and the young lady that took my son back. Will be honest the rest of the staff not so much. Don't have any customer service skills, cut and dry and are too busy talking to there coworkers to do there job. When you have someone standing in front of you it's usually good to focus on the patient not on your conversation."
