Reviews of Children's Health Center
"I've been taking my children to this office for about 10 years. Up until now I have had no complaints but as of yesterday I am completely disappointed. Not only have they sent the prescription to a closed pharmacy but I have called 3 times now in 24 hours to get them to send it to the correct pharmacy and it is still not done. They said it may take 24-48 hours for her to get the message. I guess my son is supposed to suffer because no one can be bothered to make a simple phone call to a pharmacy and get this situation fixed."
"Dr. Yakubu was unprofessional and discourteous. She was the on call doctor at the time when my child had an emergency and after two attempts to reach her, I ended up taking my child to the ER. It took this doctor nearly 3 hours to return my call. Her reason? She was in church. When I questioned her, she told me she didn't call me for that and hung up. Should your child need emergency medical assistance on a Sunday, pray that Dr. Yakubu isn't on call. In fact don't bother with the on call service at all and take your child to the ER. Her behavior was completely unethical and rude. I only come here for Dr. Drummond who is a great doctor, but I can't in good conscience continue to bring my child here knowing Dr. Yakubu may oversee her care. This was my first interaction with her and it will be my last."
"Dr. Yakubu is the best doctor in Tampa. The office manager is very mean and her staff fluctuates. The medical students are excellent. In over 10 years...they are the first ones that every asked my kids about their travel baseball life. They seem to care. Hopefully they will learn from Dr. Yakubu's nature. The Physician Assistant straight lied to my face after she forgot we were in the room and said, "Oh I said you could go because Dr. Yakubu isn't coming". She absolutely didn't say that because we were waiting for an eye and hearing test. The wait is EXTREMELY long as it is, can you imagine them coming back in the room saying, Oh I told you that you could go after being in the room for over an hour!!! They seem bothered to deal with you when you call or need anything. Don't even ask just wait to see Dr. Yakubu. The only reason I haven't left is because I love Dr. Yakubu and she knows everything about my kids and cares. I just wish the experience and treatment was better."
"went for my kids physicals here and the nurses here gave my kids their shot but didn't write it down, so when I moved out of state he was missing shots on his record, even though I told him he was up to date. So I called a million times to get a hold of a nurse to make a correction and they kept putting me on hold. I kept calling and no nurse would pick up. I did this for 3 days!!!!!! Nothing. I get they are busy, but at least take a message, call back? something! don't put parents that call during their lunch time on hold for 30 min. DO YOUR JOB!!!"
"Now I know why I was able to get an appointment within 24 hours at this place. It is so disorganized and if you think you can get it done all in under an hour, think again! Came here as a new patient for my sister since her back was hurting and this doctor was the only one available within the next 1-2 days. We came in at 1:15pm to fill out new patient paperwork, completed and paid co-pay for our appointment time at 1:30pm. Didn't get called until 1:45pm while being one of two people there waiting. Here we are waiting in the room and we can hear the doctor go from room to room except ours. Not to mention the very sad looking waiting room with plastic folding chairs and not so clean patient rooms. The TVs have cords hanging out and employees on the phone gossiping rather than helping you. This place is either new or cheap. I won't be back and I'm definitely not going to skimp out on physician care. I'm better off paying for urgent care than I am at this place. This review is ending at 2:33pm with still no sign from the doctor. I'm going to have to get up and ask because our appointment was at 1:30pm! Didn't know I had to take off the rest of the day for this appointment."
