"I wouldn’t even give them a star if that was possible. Besides the wait of 3 hours, Dr. Vargas completely shut me up throughout my whole appointment and when sharing my concerns. Didn’t want to hear about any of my symptoms or my diagnosis before the visit. I am aware I have PCOS and told him this, however this was NOT the reason for my visit. I have been monitoring my glucose ever since I found out I was having problems with it during a hospital visit, Dr. Vargas did not even want to see my monitor or check the important measurements or my avg. Even more ABSURD was the fact he told me a “40 mg/dL glucose level could be normal” in a full on 22 year old adult and when told my doctors had told me that wasn’t normal he gaslight me with “Honey, I’ve been doing this for 40 years”. I have a full name, the honey was passive aggressive (but then again Dr. Vargas was passive aggressive with me and my mom throughout the whole thing as we explained we were worried as diabetes ran in the family and I was already a diagnosed pre-diabetic.) Anything below 70 is absolutely dangerous, doesn’t take a genius or a degree to know such thing. However, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and asked 3 different doctors and all said it was absolutely not normal. Even a simple google search could tell you and why. They told me to never go back and the only thing he wanted was money as he scheduled me for an ultrasound and gave me a PCOS diagnosis which I told him I had already but refused to check my glucose, especially as I was telling him that was my main concern and that is why I was referred there. Not only that but then he told me I had “anxiety” which is also not news to me and I know what low blood sugar feels like compared to anxiety which I told him as I’ve fainted from low blood sugar which is how I found out I was struggling with my glucose. Even more absurd is the fact he told me I had not gone to my PCP since May last year when my PCP referred me in October and when told to ask for those he said it doesn’t matter. How? If those are the tests I was referred with! An absolute mess and dismissive. Would absolutely tell you to find a doctor that actually cares about you, every one of your symptoms, tests that could help him, and your concerns! Also office is dirty and they like to make money of their patients not address their concerns. Dr. Vargas is ridiculous. After reading so many reviews, he is clearly not caring and wants us to be lab rats. Does not listen to doctors who have referred their patients there, matter of fact says their bloodwork is not right. Shouldn’t be a doctor or at least go back to school. Update: Went to another endocrinologist who was happy to go back on my medical history and other bloodwork, I ended up in the ER at 4AM a week after this appointment from low blood sugar! What a surprise! I now have a dexcom and I am indeed having problems with my sugar skyrocketing and dropping despite my balanced meals."
"I have been contemplating should I go back this year since March. The wait time is horrible. The Staff is rude and disrespectful Dr. Gosine will speak down on what ever labs your Dr. does and tell you that’s not the one she needs. Basically he doesn’t know what he’s doing.(Disrespectful) and I know My PC is a smart Dr. It seems to me she just wants blood drawn in her office. It be the same labs. And don’t need an ultrasound you have to go back and forth everything is an appointment. And why you can’t have labs drawn while you’re there. Separate office visit $$. I’m just informing people try to find somewhere else to go. Oh and another thing. When you go in the office Whatever smell that’s burning in there when you leave you will have a headache you will need a shower wash you clothes clean your purse because the smell is so strong it will be in you car and house. I don’t think patients should have to be subjected to that that’s her practice but everyone that comes in should not have to smell it. I will pursue to find another Dr. Enough is Enough!!!!!"
"I'm giving a 1 star review for a few reasons. One of the main problems for me and so many others is the ridiculous wait time. I came here one year ago and I've made a mistake of coming back this year. Nothing has changed. I had an appt for 12 PM and showed up about 5-10 minutes late (remembering one of the desk assistants last year told me to show up 1 hour after your appt time because they are notoriously slow at this office). In the waiting room there is only ONE other person ahead of me, and by the time I'm waiting in the patient's room there's one other person, so two people in total ahead of me. However, Dr. Vargas spends ALOT of time at the reception desk area in between patients. I get that he is trying to get work done but when you are the LAST patient in the office and you've waited an hour and a half to see this guy when he spends more time at the desk is ridiculous!!! If he's going to do that, just schedule your appointments 1 hour apart (but that would be TOO logical...just have all your patients in the waiting room like sardines)!!! Of course, they make you pay beforehand so you cannot just walk out of the office because now you feel mentally trapped. I got up out of the patient's room to use the bathroom and was about to say something to him when he assured me he would see me in a few minutes. Ten minutes after that, I spent not more than 3 minutes with him. He speaks in a pretty rushed manner. He knows I need to get bloodwork and an ultrasound done. The ultrasound was scheduled for the next day. Last year, the ultrasound was not something that was charged for but this year it was. SO NOW I REALIZE THEY SCHEDULE YOU ON DIFFERENT DAYS TO GET MORE MONEY OUT OF YOU!!! And of course, so many other doctor's offices will call you and tell you the results of your bloodwork / won't call if everything is normal / send results in the mail. NOT HERE. I ask the lady at the front desk if after my bloodwork is done I can just call on the phone to get my results if everything is normal. Of course, the answer was "no, you have to see the doctor, he prefers to talk to you in person." Overall, I will not be returning to this office. I would rather drive completely out of my way than return here. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! (Below is the photo all throughout their office. It was not there last year. They probably put it up because of all of their complaints!!!)"
"I have seen Dr. Vargas on several occasions and have never had to wait more than an hour (maybe 15 minutes in waiting room, 15 minutes in exam room with nurse and another 30 minutes waiting for Dr, but that was only on one occasion- usually it's been faster). I've never felt rushed, nor bullied as some of the comments here have stated. Yes, Dr. Vargas is loud but we have a good rapport. I have very controlled Type 1 diabetes and he seems to appreciate that I'm informed, ask lots of questions and I'm proactive about my health. On my last visit, Dr. Vargas reviewed all my previous blood work in depth, made a few modifications to my treatment plan, set a follow-up schedule and even confirmed that he had approved my authorization paperwork for my medical device supplies. The office staff has always been helpful - even though I had to change a particular appointment twice. I have never experienced the rude behavior that's been described here."
"Very unprofessional Doctor. My wife had to wait 2 hours for her initial appointment to be seen. That should have been a warning sign because on the follow up appointment she waited nearly 1 1/2 hours beyond her appointment time to be seen. Nobody gives you an update of what is going on or an apology. I was with my wife during the follow up. When "Dr." Gosine was confronted about this she became very hostile, rude and demeaning, as if she was scolding one of her children. She actually told us to get out after we questioned her on this. This is one of the bad ones that you may want to avoid at all cost. Trust me, do yourself or your loved one a favor and avoid this quack!"
