Reviews of Allergy associates of the Palm Beaches
"I took my son here for immunological testing. They ran a test for whooping cough efficacy (I did not order this test and it has nothing to do with my son‘s condition). My insurance has refused to pay for this bloodwork and it’s over $500. Seriously shame on this practice I’m a single mother and I’m not rich like everybody else around here. Is there a potential I could contact somebody from the office to discuss this this is really problematic right now thank you. I never ordered a test to see if my sons vaccines were working I wanted to see why he was getting sick all of the time. SMH."
"Do not go here if you are looking for an office to get allergy shots from.I missed an appointment due to my public service job where I do not have access to outside phones or internet to be able to call to cancel. The scheduling of allergy shots is difficult for me bc of the nature of my job. I get 5 minute notice when I have to work a double shift and no access to the outside world. The office originally started with open shot appointments. Then went to schedule appointments. Then it was you could no longer schedule same day appointments. Recently, it’s always an appointment that is a week out. This does not fit into my life style. Any other offices allows walk in shot bc they are easy and quick. I kindly asked for my medical records and serum so I could go elsewhere. she said “medical records?” like it was foreign term to her.I got rudely questioned if I had filled out forms yet and I let her know it was my first call requesting these items so I haven’t done anything. She asked what was going on then wants to say it’s my fault I can’t get an appointment this week bc I missed an appointment time. Missing 2 appointments in 3 years for something that literally takes 30 seconds is a win in my book. I’m not even sure why it was an issue as I was asking for medical records and serum that I own. The “lady” (and I use that term loosely) hung up on me. I called back to ask her name and she flat out refused to give it to me. Turns out her name is Porsche but she acts more like a Hyundai. The turnover rate here is outrageous. Majority of staff has never been welcoming with the exception of Ariel and Meeka. When I asked for a supervisor I was told “we don’t really have one” by someone named Jacaria who didnt seem to want to give me information either. It’s hard to believe, but this office is worse than the other allergist I used to see. I’ve kept my same doctors in other specialties for over 20 years. Not sure what is wrong with allergists that they can’t get their staff/offices together. So now I’m left stuck with no way to get my medical records or serum. Ok cool. Sounds totally legal! Every time I deal with this office, I feel like I’m bothering someone. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere more accommodating and friendly."
"Dr. Koterba Is an amazing doctor. He knows his stuff and takes his time to figure out the problem instead of just writing an RX. He has been so helpful in helping my 1 yr old with her FPIES and my baby girl LOVES him! I would recommend him! Especial if you need a good doctor not just a script! His staff is AMAZING!!!! I found the unicorn of doctor’s office! Great dr and staff!!!!!!"
"We have been coming here every week for months, so I'm very familiar with this clinic. Dr. Perez is nice and seems to really care. The nurses and aids have all also been very pleasant. The two-stars reflects the office administration staff. It is worst-case scenario. Knowing that I will have to deal with them ruins my whole day. Here are a few examples: 1. Incorrect appointment scheduling on two separate occasions that resulted in us having to come in for an extra 4 weeks worth of inconvenient appointments, which also cost $175 each self-pay. 2. Double billing on two separate appointments, without refund, claiming it's for supplies, not the appointment. Though, when supplies are not provided, we still pay what they claimed was a supply fee. 3. Inability to get paperwork to our PCP. Inability to send correct paperwork to Quest, despite calling prior to our Quest appointment to confirm what was sent. Which caused us to have to take our son back to school without the test done and reschedule our Quest appointment. This is all on top of the fact that I stand at the front desk for 5 minutes before anyone acknowledges me and another 5 minutes before they actually help me. It's so bad that we have debated driving 2 hours every week to see another doctor, but as of now have not made that switch. They are the only ones in the area doing OIT, and the administration staff treats you accordingly. I am posting this while still going to this clinic every week on the off-chance that this feedback could be helpful. I can't imagine how the administration staff could be worse even if they know I posted this. UPDATE: We use Aspire Allergy in Wellington now. The staff there is a million times more accommodating and friendly. It's an extra 30 minute drive for us, but totally worth it since they schedule us 1 appointment that would take 3 appointments going here."
"Dr. Koterba is amazing. He knows his stuff and takes the time to speak with his patients. My infusions have saved my life and I have been antibiotic free for well over a year!"
