Reviews of Seminole Behavioral Health - Aspire Health Partners
"Racist and abusive staff. They could care less about you and only care about money they make. Nothing to do all day and people just lay on the floors in the halls. Food is comparable to jail food and or worse. Completely not edible. If you send your loved one here for a baker act, you are a terrible person"
"Profoundly disappointed by “Orlando Health” hospitals. after being taken to Dr. Philips’ ER for low blood sugar, my fiancé (type 1 diabetic) was over-compensated with a sugar drip, and within 5 hours went into diabetic ketoacidosis. the nurse (temporarily transferred here from a hospital in Tampa) even knew that they were being mistreated and apologized. fiancé was baker acted, but the hospital provided no consistent therapy options or active treatment, only a sit-in nurse while they were held for almost 3 days. once-daily doctor stops where hardly any information was exchanged. they seem to have no experience (or care) handling people with specific health or dietary needs. eventually, finally they were transferred to Seminole South (also part of Orlando Health) where the ‘Behavioral Health’ unit had bedtime from 8:30 PM to 8:30 AM, plus a three-hour ‘downtime’ from 1 to 3 PM. once-daily psychiatrist visit (a total of 15 minutes over two days) provided no help at all, hardly even asked why they were brought in, and no other forms of behavioral help. a shared TV with the other psychiatric ward patients, some outdoor time, and no access to books, computers, or any form of entertainment. a day’s worth of sitting around strangers, who all need varying levels of mental healthcare, with nothing to do. two visiting hours per week. to compare their experience to being babysat would be insulting to babysitters. discharge included one last “check-up” with the psychiatrist and no follow-up help or information. the only thing they physically provided was a folder with general health “recommendations”(tobacco cessation, infection prevention, chest pains, etc. ????) and what medications they received in the hospital. no guidance on how to navigate mental health, hardly any information about their new medication, and not even recommendations on therapists or counselors to speak to. truly apathetic treatment on a systemic level. some of the nurses tried to do what they could, but it’s clear that these institutions do not prioritize patients. this was our second overwhelmingly bad stay at Dr. Philips and our final stay at any Orlando Health hospital."
"The Dr is rude and unprofessional, the staff is so much worse. I had a negative experience with both Becky and Faith at the fern park location. They sent a letter discharging me as I missed two appointments which one Becky schedule me out of my normal Monday routine. On top of having no one to watch my two yr old. I hope they get audited"
"I went in for being suicideal and was bounced between therapists wasting my precious time. Then I was put with a totally incompetent therapist that didn't even let me talk about my problems and tried giving advice based on articles she had googled up on the spot. No one there cares at all..."
"Rarely very much of a wait at the fern park location however the doctor there is a quack and doesn't do his job very well. He acts very bored like he doesn't want to be there and finds seeing patients a bother. Worse if all the doc doesn't fill out paperwork for prescription unless it's a simple fax over, doesn't do prior auth forms."
