"My experience with this research group has been comforting and welcome. I was expecting it to be more of a “laboratory” setting cold and scientific. Instead I find that we are greeted and welcomed by warm caring Healthcare Professionals. I trust that they have my best interest at heart, and have recommended them to my family and friends. "Mom and I have been attending this study for months and enjoy going there. The staff is very friendly and easy going. One nurse in particular is named Stephanie, she is exceptional at her job. When she does the infusions, they are painless, mom tells me! She is a beautiful person, inside and out ❤️ We are happy to do our part to benefit Alzheimers disease!"
"I have been coming here for the last six months with my wife. This place is a terrific resource for anyone who is experiencing memory issues or who is caring for someone who is experiencing memory issues. The facility is clean, professional and staffed by doctors, pharmacists, nurses and technicians, all of whom are involved in making you visit comfortable and informative. The NPRC runs multiple drug studies for drug companies that are developing various treatments for dementia. The NPRC staff provide memory tests, MRI tests, PET scans and monthly or bi monthly medications to treat people experiencing memory loss. This is all done without any cost to the persons selected for the study!! I must say a word also about the atmosphere of this place. It is warm, welcoming and informative. Our doctor, John explained the process thoroughly when we first met, and explained that it would involve a long term commitment which we were willing to make. He introduced us to Brooke who greets us each time we come for a treatment and then gets an update on our health and any changes in medications as well as taking a variety of vital signs, all while chatting in a friendly manner with us. Next Brooke brings us to the administration of an infusion which has a drug that is being tested and is administered to us by Stephanie a nurse and phlebotomist who can find even the tiniest of veins! After an hour and a half, we are done and have our appointment for the next visit. The process is very easy and the people and level of care are fantastic. If you know of anyone who may be having issues with memory loss, this should be your first stop!!"
"Our experience with NPRC was wonderful from start to finish. Both my husband and I went through 2 different studies and the entire staff from the front office to Dr. Bond and Dr. John are so knowledgeable and kind. Both Brooke D and Xavier our study coordinators were a pleasure to work with. They took their time to explain every aspect of the study and what we would be experiencing. Thanks all for helping us to learn more about our health while hopefully helping others understand theirs."
"Recently I connected up with the NPRC in Fort Meyers, Florida by simply GOOGLING what my symptoms are, and what my options are for dementia/Alzheimer’s Disease. As being one of my own Mother’s caretakers, I saw 1st handedly how dementia changed her. She was around my current age of 70 when it caught our attention. Over several years now, myself and my family & friends have been noticing these same changes with me. After my last doctor visit in June, 2021 along with several years of not getting any referrals from my medical doctor who knew my family history, it finally led ME to seek out my own professional help. So, I turned to GOOGLE and there was my answer, “Neuropsychiatric Research Center” in Fort Myers, FL. After my initial Lab interview appointment, I must have sparked enough concern to warrant me another quick return visit just 3 days later. After another lengthy interview with a lot more information given at hand about the drug study, more return visits were set up consisting of lab work, MRI, PET SCAN and CAT SCAN. Finally, with POSITIVE amyloid plaque results at hand, I did not qualify for the initial (Biogen) blind drug study, but I learned that I was a better candidate for another drug study (Eli Lilly) that was not a “blind” study, which means that I will now actually be given the trial drug for 18 months and not a Placebo. To date…Jan 2022, NPRC has been a pleasant and positive experience with my husband along side me as my “Study Partner.” We pay out of pocket for nothing and there’s no insurance involvement. They even pay us both to participate in this drug study which helps with our 45 min drive and food expenses. We both finally feel confident that I’m in the hands of the right people who can give me the answers and the help that I need to fight this terrible, epidemic disease."
