Reviews of The Woodruff Institute for Dermatology & Cosmetic Surgery
"I had a really unfortunate experience today at this office. I will start off by saying the nurse was absolutely lovely and one of the kindest people I’ve interacted with. She acknowledged all of my concerns and even sat with me after that show me she understood what I was feeling and saying. Now for the not so good part of the visit. I saw Debora Nash for my acne concerns. I have been on acne medication for the past year that I do not like because it is causing undesirable side effects. This medication has cleared up my skin so my skin was clear. I expressed that to her and that I want to try something new and she told me my skin is perfectly clear and that she has no other medication recommendations for me other than the ones I have been taking. I was on 4 medications to keep my skin clear and still experiencing breakouts. Apparently this is a permanent solution and something I just have to do for my whole life if I want clear skin. She asked me what I wanted her to do about it and asked if I researched any medications before I came. I thought the reasoning for visiting a specialist would be to get the experts opinion and not have to be doing any outside research. She continued to speak to me in a condescending tone. I expressed to her that I felt she was dismissing of my concerns and she told me that I was experiencing a disconnect with her and I need to see someone else. I got emotional because of how rude she was speaking to me and she told me I am obviously hormonal and that’s why the medication worked for me (for hormonal acne). She never looked at my chest and back to examine my skin for acne after I said I have body acne as well. I have never left a doctors appointment in tears before but I left this office bawling today. She completely invalidated everything I said and told me that my reaction was due to my hormones rather than her just being a very rude and quite frankly bad physician! She tried to get me to set up another appointment with someone else at her office to which I declined. She then asked me what prescriptions I wanted her to write for me. Umm seriously? That’s HER JOB!! Again, the nurse I had was wonderful and sat with me after and told me she understands and heard what I said and gave me her own personal recommendations for what I should do. I know this is long but I don’t understand how this woman is employed."
"Do not go to this place. I had an appointment with Debra Nash and it was a terrible experience. She was extremely rude to me and basically dismissed everything I tried to tell her. I'll never go back to this janky establishment. I honestly don't know how Debra even keeps a job with her poor attitude. Extremely unprofessional to say the least."
"I have been going to the Woodruff Institute for about 5 years. Each year they seem to reduce their level of services and are moving into an a-la-cart boutique in which simple removal by freezing of seborrheic keratoses growths are now deemed "cosmetic surgery". This is regrettable. It is a simple procedure done with liquid nitrogen. It is best done with a skilled hand. I am a doctor, a scientific doctor. I am treated well by the staff and technicians, in my case a PA, not an MD. Her assistant is also a pleasant and professional person. This feedback is more for the owner and manager then the staff. Your continuing reduced services prompt me to find a new dermatologist and I am professionally disappointed in the direction your organization is going. My request to remove a simple benign keratoses was denied because you now want this to be a cosmetic surgery, obviously to make more money. You neglect to consider both that I would have been happy to pay extra for the service, and that in my judgment, and my experience, this should be covered in a routine annual exam."
"I have been a patient here for the last 2 years for scans and treatment of my moles, and have been treated with the same kindness and caring attitude at every appointment. Debbie Wallace is wonderful! She is very thorough, answers all of my questions and really ensures I am comfortable with her processes and any procedures needing performed before, during, and after the task at hand. I never feel like just another patient or number, I am grateful for this team! :)"
"I took my son in, who is 2 and has sensory issues, to see Debbie Wallace and I was so happy with the visit. My son screams and kicks at doctors and not once did he do it at this visit. Debbie has some shark pictures on the walls and took him over to see them, then let him play with her light to keep him calm and distracted while she looked at his rash. What we thought was a rash was actually something else and she prescribed us a medication she knew our insurance would cover and explained what he had in a way we could understand and treat. My husband, 2 yr old and I left this appointment happy campers! Thank you Debbie Wallace :)"
