Reviews of The Eye Institute Of West Florida
"Dr Desai and staff ( Morgan in particular) were outstanding at every step of my husband’s cataract surgery. I may be biased, but I feel the care at the Eye institute is the best anywhere, and I’ve worked in practices in California and several places in Florida. As a doctor AND a patient; I highly recommend THE Eye Institute of West Florida ."
"Dr Weinstock and his entire staff respond in a very professional manner. I appreciate the time Dr Weinstock took during and after my examine. The staff are knowledgeable and exhibit genuine kindness through understanding patient concerns."
"In and out. No pain cataract surgery in right eye. Nearly 20/20 afterwards. Wore glasses for 50 years almost to the day. Watched TV without them the first night--with only one eye treated. Enjoyed the surgical staff; appreciated their sense of humor and bang-bang professionalism. The heated blanket made my day. Wish I had a dozen eyes that needed the same work."
"As older patients in the vast world of medicine we have encountered many physicians in 80 years, and although we sing their praises, our experience at the Eye Institute of West Florida is unmatched - a consummate experience at every turn. In particular, supported by wonderful staffs, Dr. Leonard Kirsch and Ronald Weinstock are standouts. Repeat: standouts. The thought of having needle injections in one's eyes is daunting, and trust becomes a major concern. Dr. Kirsch gently informed us, giving us an education on the techniques and procedures allaying any fears or trepidation. Ron came in diagnosed as legally blind and can now claim 20/20 vision! Amazing! In the beginning Dr. Kirsch explained diabetic retinopathy and the need for compliance in being a proactive patient in combating this horrendous malady and with gentle encouragement and guidance the miracle happened. This experience gave us a new look and understanding of diabetes and made us willing passengers in the process ad infinitum. With preparations made, it then became Dr. Weinstock's extraordinary expertise in placing a lens in each eye to complete the process. Again, with most thoughtful and considerate communication, we were on board 100% proactively embracing the miracles awaiting us and so many others who are challenged with vision complications. Presto! NO words can adequately convey our heartfelt and life changing gratitude we hold for these professionals - the consummate leaders in the broad spectrum of ophthalmology!"
"I saw a young doctor I believe her name was Nora Cochran or something like that. She went off on me because I hadn't seen a primary care doctor in a long time and didn't answer any of my questions. She gave me eye drop medicines that were not covered by my insurance. When I tried to tell the receptionist about it, I was ignored. I went to Robson Eye and it was like night and day. That doctor took plenty of time to answer my questions and had a plan that seemed way better than Nora's. His assistant Sarah was great also . I think the worst thing about Nora is I let her know my partner had passed recently, hoping she would let up on me a little and after a quick acknowledgment of the loss she then went on to say that was all the more reason I needed to see a primary care doctor to handle my grief. LOL. I do not think that is a good idea as I do not think drugs handle grief and I'm wondering if she's on some of those now. How she treated me is one of the reasons I don't really want to see a traditional medical doctor unless I must. I hope she receives some good communication courses and one on Compassion or the Golden Rule in the near future. I'm pretty sure she would not have been okay with being treated the way she treated me."
