"She's been my doctor for 3 years - I was in bad shape then....her expertise got me on the right medication and I'm so much better. She's very knowledgeable and listens to concerns. The posts here of the doctor or nurses being rude I really don't understand. This office is business like may be that upsets some. It took me three weeks to a month first visit with referral...then every 2 - 4 months depending on my condition and lab reports. I never wait more than 5-10 minutes when I arrive for an appointment."

"I will not go into complete detail, however, As a patient, (she is not my Dr, just happened to be on call), I had some questions and was looking for advice in the middle of the night. She was not extremely rude, however, as a patient I shouldn't be made to feel like I'm a defendant on trial having to explain myself. Accusations were made without knowing the facts and she was clearly annoyed due to having a call come in late at night. **Gessler Clinic, PLEASE don't have Physician's on call if it's a burden on them. please just stop offering the service to patients.** I really, really like my Dr. He's very knowledgeable, down to Earth, and very easy to talk to. ***Note: This is in NO WAY a reflection on Gessler clinic. I have always been treated with courtesy, and the Dr's do genuinely care about their patients, and have always gone out of their way to find answers to every concern, presented. SIDE NOTE: If I need to call again after hrs and I have a better experience, I will update my review. Thank you."

"Dr Lopez-Mendez & her staff are amazing! I spoke to Nina a few times prior to my appointment & each time she was very patient, professional & friendly. Today I met with Donna, before seeing the Dr, and she was great! She explained how the Dr works & what would go on during & after my appointment. Both her & Nina followed up with me before I left & again, they were great. Dr Lopez-Mendez was on time, extremely pleasant, knowledgeable & thorough. She explained everything she was going to do & what the plans were going forward. If you’re looking for a rheumatologist who will do her best by you, look no forward!"

"Had my records sent first to Dr.McCarthy's office and they sat on his desk. When I called back they said he didn't want me as a patient and then sent me to Dr. Lopez-Mendez. Never heard back again so called Gessler administration and they said she didn't want me as a patient with no explanation. Never once was I told they were not accepting new patients. Very unprofessional and without answers makes one wonder if there is some other reason maybe discrimination. With so few Rheumatologists in the area it makes one wonder how many other people have been treated like this and have no where to turn."

"It took 3 months to get my first appointment. On that appointment, the nurse was rude & actually told me I would have to wait to use the restroom (which of course I did not). When the Dr. Finally came in, she had not been over all of my records, which they required to be seen!! She did not even look at my joints or areas of concern. She just wanted to put me on meds! I had to tell her I wanted x-rays done to see progression, which she would not have done, if I had not insisted. I won't go back to her, not impressed!! A rating of 3 is generous, I should have put a 2."
