"Staff is very friendly and dr.matthews is awesome he found out something others doctors never caught.yes it is hard to schedule appointment that's because he busy cause he cares about patients.So be patient and wait your turn to see him cause it's worth the wait."
"Dr. Mathews is amazing. Kind, patient, compassionate. His office and on call staff think they know enough to practice medicine without a license. JUDY decides if your complaint is worth telling Dr. Mathews. JUDY decides whether to pass referral requests to the doctor. JUDY decides how many doses of medication you get and REFUSES to consult the doctor's notes to clarify. JUDY decides that you need testing to have simple dental work done. JUDY tells you not to pay your copay in the office and then waits over a year to tell you that you are delinquent. JUDY can't figure out which prescription is the most current, despite dates. The oncall staff REFUSE to notify the doctor afterhours because "we decide what is appropriate to tell the doctor and your complaint is not urgent enough". As a RN myself, even I would not presume to decide what the MD might consider important. This staff is ruining an other wise excellent doctor's practice."
"I have no comments about dr Matthews as appointments with him have been very routine. The office staff however is rude, argumentative and cannot manage the patient load. Patient care is NOT their priority. Inability to get a prescription refill because I have not seen the Dr recently and they cannot get me an appointment for a real long time. They say its my fault, I should know how the system works. Well I do not....thats thier job . Its called patient / health management. I told them to tell Dr Matthews that I will be looking for a new heart doctor and all they said was goodbye and hung up on me."
"Was my Cardiologist for years. I called to make an appointment because I had heart attack symptoms. They made my appointment for 2 days following. I asked if they took my new insurance and was told yes. I went to my appointment, asked if they wanted my new card and was told yes - they immediately told me that they didn’t take my new insurance!!! Have fun dealing with the office - they will yell at you, forgot your appointments and don’t forget an appointment card - without it they will tell you that you don’t have an appointment! It’s a dog and pony show every time that I went. The doctor is great - but you only get 5 minutes of his time. I called near the holidays before and was told the doctor was out of town - I said that my blood pressure was 200/160…..the receptionist said: I don’t know what to tell you - he is out of town.,..no recommendation to call another doctor or anything. I’m actually glad that they don’t take my new insurance. Good riddance!"
