Reviews of Florida Memorial University
"Florida Memorial University is one of the most unprofessional colleges I’ve ever experienced. The people from the admissions office are very disrespectful, incompetent, and do not provide services when in need. It is a hassle to try & get in contact with someone from any department, nobody ever picks up or returns phone calls! They provide you with incorrect information, keep you on hold then proceed to hang up the phone, and many more. Tasha from the admission offices is very disrespectful & one of the most immature administrators that I’ve ever came across! Education & money is nothing to play about! I will be sure that I get into contact with someone that is above & has higher power, because this is ridiculous & I feel sorry for the students that attend Florida Memorial University that have to receive this type of treatment on daily basis!"
"I am an Alumni of FMU and I took my 21 year old Son on a tour of the Campus as he is considering matriculating there and completing his undergraduate and graduate education. Nothing like an HBCU! The Campus is expanding and growing as the Land has been cleared where Prime and Duo once proudly stood! Ahhh the Memories! I also Love seeing the Iguanas on Campus!!!"
"Worst HBCU ever, They don’t answer the phones, it’s been 2 semesters already and my daughter still hasn’t received her financial aid disbursement from the first semester. All the staff members throw each other under the bus to avoid being held accountable. The president is very unprofessional, doesn’t respond to voicemails or emails. There are fights all the time, no one is punished, the furniture in the dorms are ridiculous. All in all the school and the staff are absolutely ridiculous."
"My son chose this school because he wanted to graduate from an HBCU. This campus was close to our family so it was his top choice. When we moved in the dorm was filthy, they had pests and had the audacity to be rude. We have mold all over the ceiling so we had to request a new room. In addition, we waited 12 hrs for his clearance to get the key to his dorm. There was a bright light at the campus two individuals Martine and Adam are priceless to the institution, if not for their kindness we would have left and took our money to another university. We pay 12k a semester it is unbelievable that we have experienced any issues!!! The issues we have experienced could have been avoided with planning and communication. The dorms could easily be cleaned if it was done on a consistent basis. I was a strong supporter of HBCUs previous to this experience but it is extremely apparent with FMU why many of these schools are failing."
"Great university ,staff, educational programs, excellent campus. Wow .. great Jazz Concert.. can't wait for the next one."
