"Dr. handelman’s receptionist was extremely unprofessional and rude. I called to inquire about getting a paper signed by the doctor for an amplified telephone due to hearing loss. I was spoken over, interrupted and told I called the wrong place because I pronounced the doctors name wrong. She wasn’t listening to what I was asking for and instead interrupted and spoke over me. while interrupting me, the lady said that nobody at the office could help me and that the doctor won’t be available for anything until the end of October. Do they have nurses there or any other health professional? Why is the office open if nobody can assist a patient with anything? This lady simply did not want to help at all. She was bothered that she had to do her job so she refused. If you are elderly or disabled DO NOT become a patient here."

"This is an interesting non-response from Bay Area Medical Clinic to my wife’s review. Everything she said in her review is documented by Humana Military TRICARE, which is investigating Dr. Handelman’s practice for overcharging Tricare Prime Patients Copay. My wife and I tried to work with Dr. Handelman’s office and they flatly refused to charge the correct co-pay. When we advised them that we’ve conferred with Humana about this issue and Humana stated the we were being charged the wrong copay and Humana started an investigation, Dr Handelman’s ARNP demanded get another primary care physician (so much for “caring for our patients satisfaction and encourage our patients to directly contact us”). I know for a fact that we’re not the only ones this is happening to. We once again urge any veteran or dependent on TRICARE Prime who is being charged the incorrect copay to report them to Human Military TRICARE and the State Board of Medicine immediately."
