Reviews of Coastal Mental Health Center
"This is my 1st time trying to receive services for MH. Coastal was the only provider I could get an appt scheduled W/I a reasonable timeframe. This was important to me because I was fearful of what could happen if I didn’t get support & intervention. The 1st appt was simply an eval. during which I had experienced issues w/ their telehealth. However, they apparently knew this was common & reached out to assist before I had a chance to call them. The solution was to send a new link on a different platform. 2nd appointment, 11/15, was an in-person appt. Long awaited & very needed! I’d experienced a crisis situation since the eval. Symptoms had escalated & other people were now involved. I called for help w/ appt after realizing I wouldn’t have enough time to drive from Gainesville to Leesburg. My child suffered a major injury & the Pediatric Ortho was in Gainesville,1.5 hrs away. They helped! Made it telehealth but never sent a link. I called but they were “out to lunch!” Left messages, no call back! Called many times after, no answer, left more messages. Around 5 pm I finally spoke to someone who INSISTED a link was sent @ 0835 hrs. Impossible, I hadn’t realized my conflict until after 1030 am. I did receive a text @ the time quoted, it was simply a reminder of the in-person appt. They wanted to reschedule for December!! I panicked & begged for a sooner appt! One was found via telehealth for a week away/today. Today, I recvd the same link that didn’t work during the 1st visit. Despite that, I logged in, on time, waited for the “moderator.” I’d checked audio & video on my end to eliminate possible problems. I waited/watched for a call like I’d received the 1st appt that was also telehealth. I double checked to see if I’d recvd an alternate link. Nothing. I continued to wait. After 30+ minutes, I called. I was told the provider logged in, didn’t see my face, documented me as a “no show.” Next available appt wouldn’t be soon due to the holidays. I tried to express my anxiety w/ a tone that conveyed my frustration but wasn’t disrespectful. The call taker interrupted me. She curtly & rhetorically questioned my truthfulness about the links she said were sent. She said that telehealth would no longer be offered to me, that I’d be required to attend in-person all future appts. She was PUNISHING ME?! NOTE: I never asked for a telehealth appt. On the day of my daughter’s emergency appt, I hadn’t expected that alternative. It was offered & accepted. What does bother me is her assigning ALL responsibility or fault to ME & MOST IMPORTANTLY, the assignment of fault was more important to her than getting me the service I am practically begging for & paying for!!!! I did tell her the times & dates she’d quoted were actually appt reminders for an in-person appt (no links necessary) & others were for today, to which I’m not alleging they weren’t recvd. Then I told her to take me off the schedule. She seemed surprised & hesitant. “Yes ma’am, the services I was seeking was 100% VOLUNTARY! I chose Coastal & now I AM FIRING Coastal for adding to the chaos & frustrations that have lead me down this path I find myself on!” You can imagine my surprise to look up their reviews & find a rating of “1.5” w/ the most commented complaints about appts & attitude of the staff! My advice to anyone seeking MH services voluntarily, find someone else! I had a list of providers that’d been emailed to me by my ins co. Coastal was 2nd on the list but I skipped them wanting a more personal experience & wanted to schedule w/ a named provider. After exhausting the list, I had no other choices & called Coastal. It’s not often you get to understand why your instincts steer you in a specific direction. This is an exception to the norm, when I do get to know & see why my instincts guided me in the way that they did!"
"They don't care about me one bit. I ran out of meds they've prescribed meand they never joined the link I get sent Thanks for making everything worst coastal mental health"
"If I could rate this place it would be a -10 stars they don’t care about their patients you will say your having self harming thoughts and they will put you on a wait list for therapy for over a 1 year then tell you that you have to come in person now they no longer due tele health visits… so they won’t refill my meds and I live over 1 hour away from the office.. I also work Monday through Friday till 5pm.. so basically they said I’ll have to run out of meds and find a new provider…I’ll be sueing if something happens to me.. because I go off my meds cold turkey and they seem to not care…"
"Never on time with appointments. Waiting too long at the waiting room. Always over booked appt. Provider rush patient out less than 2 mins. They are focus on quantity, not quality at all."
"The staff at this place couldn't even do something as basic as setting an appointment for a new patient. Called to arrange an appointment. Gave my insurance information and was told they would call back to set an appointment ONLY after verifying insurance. Finally got a call back a full day later and they left a VM. Called them back to arrange the appointment and the woman on the phone couldn't locate any record of me having called. After a few minutes of her asking ME who I spoke with and trying to make me feel silly for not knowing the name of some random front desk person at their clinic who never left their name in the voicemail i was told "Oh, I found the rep who knows who you are." Apparently they don't have any sort of record keeping system???? I was placed on hold for over 10 minutes and then hung up on .Called back and AGAIN the person acted like they had no idea who I was, after I had already given all of my information including insurance information the day before. Placed on hold again and hung up on AGAIN! Seriously, if they can't even do something as basic as arranging an appointment for a new patient I have no confidence in the kind of services I would receive going there. Oh, and I was told they only accept payment in cash, which is SUPER sketchy. Stay away from this place!"
