"Horrible experience. My sister visited this office and found Dr. Shaw very rude & rushed. He gave her an injection treatment and minutes later, she had an allergic reaction (she knows because she experiences these unfortunately often because of her chronic illnesses). When she alerted the office staff, they said the doctor told them it's impossible (impossible for someone to have an allergic reaction to a medication that was injected?! Not factual). She left the office and returned to her car, at which point I saw her face and neck were red and hot. She said her throat was closing and her jaw was locking up. She re-entered the practice and heard the office manager talking about her with another staff member. At this point, she was crying and panicking, they still did nothing, so she asked for her file and left. She drove to a nearby pharmacy and bought an antihistamine, then scheduled a telehealth appointment from her car. The doctor told her to go immediately to a walk-in clinic because she needed additional treatment since the allergen was injected. She drove there and the doctor that saw her told her to go to the ER, as she would need something stronger than a dose of antihistamine. In the meantime, I called the doctor's office to get the full name and license # of the doctor who refused her care when she reported these symptoms as a result of the injection he administered. I was bounced around, denied, and told I don't know what I'm talking about because I wasn't there...by their legal counsel (supposedly), who also WASN'T THERE. I was hung up on, talked over, gas lit, etc. And then, they called the police. Not kidding. They called the Fruitland police department in Florida. I'm in Connecticut, not Florida, yet they called the police and lied, saying I was outside their office telling patients not to enter. Lies. This practice is negligent, immoral, and dishonest. They then had the nerve to tell my sister she's not welcome back at their practice. All the while, she's at the ER getting treated for a reaction to their medication that they refused to treat. Sick people, sick practice, and Dr. Terek Shaw should have his license revoked. Update after response: I spoke over the phone with the police. They now know you made a false report on me, whose name was given to you multiple times over the phone. I'm not even in Florida, I'm in CT. And my sister was at the Advent Health hospital, the name I didn't know when I was on the phone with you, when you made this false report, not because I was lying. The only thing I did say on the phone is that we're going to sue the doctor for malpractice, which we are. Even on the phone, your legal counsel (supposedly) denied what happened! We have statements from the telehealth doctor, the walk-in doctor, and the ER doctor who only now at 6:30 pm has discharged her with multiple prescriptions due to the anaphylaxis she experienced as a result of the injection you gave her, and then refused to see her and dismissed her concerns with, "you can't have a reaction to it, you have the same things in your body." A simple Webmd will tell you how dangerous a reaction to this drug can be. I was calling to get the doctors full name and license number to report him to his licensing agency. It's sick that you twisted that into a fake police report. The police officer himself told me how to submit a complaint to the health department. Regarding my sister, you already know she's not returning. She asked for her file and told you this when you refused to help her when she returned from the parking lot during anaphylaxis. It's really disgusting you've taken to your reviews to continue lying. You have yet to take ownership of your negligence. Shame on you. Other patients: I have no motive to post this other than to warn others. I get no benefit from lying and honestly have better things to do. Decide on your own and best of luck!"
