"I went to Karen Callahan. She was a very good PA. Unfortunately, I had an appointment to refill a prescription and was 10 minutes late. The receptionist got my appointment, mixed up with another one and said I was an hour late and argued with me. She told me it didn’t matter because I was late anyway and had reschedule my appointment. I went there to get a prescription refilled that I had ran out of and she turned me away. I have been unable to refill that prescription to date. More recently as I’ve searched for a new doctor, I called the pharmacy to try to get my blood pressure medicine refilled, and it was out of date too. Being that blood pressure medicine is not a controlled substance, They said they would just call the doctor and get an extension. The doctors office has not responded to them after multiple attempts and it’s been over a week. Now I am also out of my blood pressure medicine and my blood pressure is out of control.. Unfortunately, the receptionist is in control of these things and I’ll let you make the decision if you want to deal with this type of stuff When you are seeking treatment and help. I really did like this doctors office, but could no longer put up with a condescending receptionist that treats patients like children. I am hopeful that someone will read this and work to fix that problem. Get her some training."
"I want to give HUGE SHOUT OUT TO KAREN CALLAHAN! She is the best..always listens to me, works with me to try different meds (without side effects), is very compassionate, caring and never ever tries to rush me or my visit. She always takes care of me and she always took care of my husband as well. Karen goes above and beyond!! ALL the staff are A1...so pleasant and easy to work with. I highly Recommend their services."
"It is so hard to find a private practice primary care doctor. I am so pleased with the care team and Karen Callahan and Lady Lake Family Practice!! She is truly the best and takes the time to really understand your healthcare concerns. She is compassionate, kind and thorough. We recommend her to everyone!!"
"I had an AWFUL experience with Karen Callahan, and will not be returning after my first visit. As a new patient, she was very rude an dismissive of my medical history and even had the nerve to laugh at me multiple times throughout my exam. She was very offensive, and I do not believe that she is competent enough to hold her position. She was not listening to me, cut me off at every moment she could, and couldn't care less about me as a patient. Very frustrated at the outcome, and I truly hope no one else has to have the experience I had."
"Edit of review. I saw Karen today. She did not treat me like a farm animal, or a leper. Gave me an actual exam inside the building, in the privacy of a patient exam room, and told me I have a sinus infection and a double ear infection. Glad I went back. Love Karen. She is the best. I truly did not appreciate having to discuss my sensitive personal medical information twice on the front porch of the office with people walking past coming and going into your office and the office next door. I understand the need to keep everyone safe but it has gotten highly ridiculous when you are treating patients like farm animals outside the building. I have a cold. They do still exist. I have tested negative twice for COVID. But because I didn't bring in my at home test results I had to be treated on the porch. No thanks. I really did not want to discuss my medical issues the first time with the nurse on the porch much less repeat them to your PA. I have never been so humiliated in my life"
