"Dishonest optician. Went to buy new prescription glasses. The optician said the transition lenses will be polarized. $500 later and a few phone calls later, I found out they are not polarized. The Optician said she would fix it and order a pair of normal polarized lenses to fix the issue. 6 months later, there was still no word on the lenses I was promised. Dishonest and unethical practice."

"I went to Kaufman Eye Care because I live in Bushnell and it was convenient. I have VSP insurance and I paid Kaufman 216.25 in November 2022 out of my pocket for a fitting of contact lenses. They kept putting me in trail lenses and it was never right, so in March I decided since they couldn’t get my contact lenses prescription right to go back to wearing glasses which I had to pay another 548.85 out of pocket. They charged me 216.00 for contact fitting and another 200 some for glasses fitting. I ended up paying for both fittings but never did get contacts. I ended up paying around 765.00 total. I called VSP and they said it was between Kaufman and me and said they could’ve at least offered to pay the glasses fitting since they couldn’t get my contacts script right. When I called and spoke to Nancy she said the service was preformed for both fittings and I would not get my contact fitting money back. Never again will I be ripped off by Kaufman Eye Care I will never go back."

"This high rating for Kaufman Eye Institute is not for a specific singular visit. Rather it is a summary of exceptional service and care for my wife and I over s span of almost four years. These are the GENERAL reasons why you should pick the Institute for all your eye care needs: 1) Irrespective of your eye condition, they have a doctor on staff with specific specialty expertise and a high level of experience that can expertly address your concerns; 2) Convent access. They have four locations between Bushnell and Tampa to choose from; 3) Staff attitudes. Every staff member we’ve interacted with has been polite, helpful, and professional; 4) Seriousness about proper eye care. The offices all have educational TVs in strategic places that help patients better understand various eye conditions. The videos are well done with animations that are easily understood. I learned some valuable information about my eye care because of these. 5) Facility conditions. We visited all their office locations; all were very clean and orderly in every respect 6) Patient processing. Their processes for moving patients through administrative things, examinations, and other care is efficient and minimizes wait times overall; and 7) Technology currency. They have and maintain state-of-are equipment that provides us patients with the very best eye care anyone could wish for. SPECIFIC: 1) My wife had both retinas partially detached and one with tears. The clinic worked her in with a retina specialist the very next day after 1st contact. We arrived at 2 PM and departed after 7:30 PM, after doctor Moscoso had “laser welded” one eye to prevent further damage before he could surgically repair and allow for healing the other eye. Remarkably, the clinic managed to arrange and perform the more complex surgery just two days later. The aftercare was over the top in every way. Several times, my wife called the Institute because she had pain or just didn’t know if something was off. They advised her to come in to be looked at in every case. While some of those visits might have been unwarranted, the staff never reacted in a negative sense; rather they reassured her every time and made care corrections in some cases. 2) I learned from the educational videos that, at my age, I should be seen by an ophthalmologist, vice optometrist or other type eye doctor. So I made an appointment and was seen by Dr. Kaufman Sr. He explained the results of my exam in language that any lay person could understand. I also had cataracts and he helped me understand what to expect going forward. Importantly, I was told it was not yet necessary to be concerned about removing them 3) Fast forward to March 2021. My wife was examined by Dr. Moscoso, who was responsible for her successful retina repair. By the way, he so expertly did the laser weld that my wife has required NO other special treatment on that eye. The rest of her exam report was all positive. I saw Dr. Kaufman Jr. and learned that I now needed to have my cataracts removed. I alerted him that I would only be in the area for a short time and was assured we could get both eyes done. He was true to his word! I wanted Kaufman Institute to do this surgery for the very reasons I’ve articulated above. I got exactly what I expected: excellent communication, timely appointments and scheduled surgery, and superior after care. I saw him four times after my surgeries (other staff doctors twice) and each time I came armed with a lot of questions. Dr. Kaufman was patient and answered every question! I make no apology for my wordy review. The rating is richly deserved, and the review substantiates their worth as a medical service organization. Go there for your eye care!"

"I have been a patient here for over 8 years, maybe longer. The inside of the building is immaculate, the outside is kept as nice. I have seen staff come and go, but one thing has remained the same throughout; Their Friendliness, Professionalism, and knowledgeable staff is just amazing. I had to have "eye lid" surgery for my peripheral vision, and it was the most pleasant surgery in my 53 years, and I have had a few. Pre surgery education, the day of and the post-op, was just so pleasant, I was so worried, but the Kaufman Staff was wonderful and eliminated my fears. The surgeons are the best in their fields! They have an incredible selection of designer frames and less expensive frames as well. Thank you Carmen Barroso, Dr Kaufman Father & Son, and Dr Lin and everyone else who's names slip my mind at the moment. "Had cataract surgery in both eyes. I had several appointments to be evaluated and then measurements were taken to decide which lens would be inserted during the surgery. I was able to see very well the same day as my surgery and this improved as each eye completed healing. Dr Kaufman works very quickly and painlessly and has a great deal of experience. i would not hesitate to recommend him to any one."
