"We had a nightmare experience with Elite Nannies and would not recommend the firm to anyone looking for a professional, ethical agency to help with the search. They took our money ($5000!) and never fulfilled the nanny search, and now won’t respond to our outreach or refund our money. During the search, the agency would just forward us candidates resumes (downloaded from Indeed) without sharing any background or why they were endorsed for the job. When I followed up to ask questions, most didn’t even meet our criteria. That’s not helpful and a waste of everyone’s time. The agency actually found us one candidate who fit the criteria for what we were looking for. After a trial, we prepared a contract and the nanny and agency both signed the contract, so of course we paid the referral fee. But then before even starting, the nanny started to send us lengthy hostile text messages each day challenging key terms of the contract - mainly pay and schedule. It was clear she didn’t read or accept the contract and the agency didn’t take her through it. That’s half the reason you hire an agency! We felt very uncomfortable with this situation so we asked for our money back but Elite agency said they would not refund but look for a new nanny as this is part of the contract if things don’t work out. But now the agency has gone dark for over a month and has not responded to any of our outreach. They have just taken our referral fee money ($5000) and not provided us a nanny. The contract requires the agency to provide new nanny candidates if first nanny does not work out for reasons like this. We’ve worked with other agencies in NY and Florida, and never had such an unprofessional, unethical experience. I would stay away from this agency as they do not fulfill their contractual obligations. Elite has not responded to our outreach, has not refunded our money and has not fulfilled the service."
