"There are some horrible teachers that don’t care at all about the students education and they do some of the most stupid and pointless things with the class there are so many trouble making inappropriate and immature kids it’s disgusting but no one cares like seriously I’ve met some of the worst people in my life right now from this school"
"This school is highly not recommended. Security and administration show no care for the children. Teachers swear left and right at the students and intimidate them with their swears. Intercourse takes place left and right. The Administration shows no role model-like qualities. Mrs. Messenger, the head of the gifted department is a DEMON. Her sole goal is to make your child's life and your life HELL. Mrs. Kushi is very two-faced. Mr.Diaz never cares. The office workers disregard you. The teachers are disrespectful. If you care for your child, DON'T send them to this school. - A child who had to go through this"
"I attended this middle school. I'm now a senior in high school, applying to some of the best universities in the world in a few months and I can proudly say that it was none thanks to this school. The other reviews are true, there's a major drug problem, I remember a girl delivering oral sex in the stairway (scarring experience 12 year old me,) the school is poorly run (as this girl was suspended and the guy who recieved it wasn't), and unless you're in the advanced or gifted programme there's little escape from this. However, if our kid is a decent kid, he/she won't give in to whatever influence the school has to offer. However, I'll be honest, the teachers aren't the most empowering. In hindsight, my 8th grade biology teacher was a bigoted, nationalist, sexist man, quote "women belong barefoot and in the kitchen." Your kid won't get much out of this school but unless you're willing to be overprotective and pay for a private school, Aventura Waterways isn't a much better option, given that any friends I had that went there used to rant about physical abuse. Fundamentally, the US educational system is a mess and you can't really shelter your kid from the real world, best you can do is send them to a very good high school. I ended up attending MAST Academy, which is the top in the county and (debatably) 18th in the nation, public magnet school. Sure, there's drugs, sex, and bullying, but that's something that happens in practically every school, and its entirely avoidable, that's something that's up to your kid. Anyways, it's got amazing teachers and a staff that at least makes an effort to help out. It's 20 miles away but now it's a 6-12 which is nice if you want to avoid this school. Just wanted to express my sincere opinion to parents who are concerned about their kids and so on, since I wish someone had given my parents this advice when I was younger. I ended up on a rant that seemed to aggrandise my current school whilst devaluing this one, my deepest apologies on that."
"Not a good school for kids. Lot of bullying going on and the principal appears to try to sweep it under the rug just to make it go away. Mr Diaz is very arrogant and feels he knows whats best for everybody and Ms Rosen is very aggressive and will argue with you til the death to get her point across (Which isn't always right). She will lie to your face while screaming to make her point. They are hurting a the childrens spirit the way the run this school"
"This is my school, and i love it as it is. Ms.Kushi is a very awesome principal. The teachers are great, but i am moving i wont go here no more :'( im leaving my bffs behind"
