This school also holds after school clubs such as wrestling, anime club, ETA “express the arts”, drama club, robotics club etc. There are also different classes that students can choose from, as electives. There are also YMCA for students who need help with school work and teacher willing to help them the YMCA allow students to get there work done while in the program"

"An awful school where the majority of teachers are not serious about teaching and just lay work in front of the students. Most students are poor disgusting creatures that crawled out of caves. While numerous idiots claim they are "popular" and just annoy the hell out of anyone near them while poisoning their faces with makeup and blasting trash music through their new iPhone. Any redeeming factor this school had quickly went to the grave with new enforcement policies to try and use fear against students in a desperate attempt to raise their failing schools grade level. Ironically decreasing it and un-motivating students with a lack of will to work leading to even worse performance from the school. Most subjects taught are just new courses of old subjects compiled with few actual differences. A boring experience that makes me feel like I wasted 3 years of my life here and having an agonizing one year left. I feel like I only learned about 10% of actual new information while attending this school. The lunches are the same tasteless factory food. New students just pop in from Spain or Colombia or China or whoever is unfortunate enough to go to this school. It seems as all of the decent and generous people left the school because almost nobody in this school will help anybody who isn't their friend or date or whatever silly logic they think of. Judging other people who wouldn't care if they existed or not. Teachers also seem like a select group of struggling people who couldn't find any success elsewhere, but there are some exceptions. A lousy experience and a key example of what is wrong in our education system."

"Although this school has it's pros and cons, it is a decent school. Just like most other high schools, drugs and sex going on on compass does happen. It depends on who you hang around with and what information others know. The staff are kind as long as you haven't done anything wrong. The security is constantly around and monitoring, but if there is over 2,000+ students to keep in check, a few slips doesn't seem too bad. Before you blame the school for students behavior, make sure your kid knows who and who not to hang with. Fighting usually only occurs between the freshmen of the school who are still getting out of the middle school mentality. In my experience, McArthur is a a well kept school for what there is. Teachers are willing to help students as long as the student puts in the effort to approach the teacher and show they truly want to receive help."

"I am a 12 grade student that have been in this school since 9. Great Esol department if you are Esol you better go to talk to your Esol department guidance that is much better than your own counselor. Is a safe school like in all places there are bad people and good people it depends in which side you want to be. Is true that there have been occasion in which some students had have sex in school bathroom but this only happen like once at year. About drugs marijuana is the only one in here, you can sometimes feel the smell in some students but lets by honest you are going to find the same in almost any school that is no a private one. The school condition have become really poor in the bathroom many do not have water for washing or if they have is little what come out in my opinion this is the worst thing about this school."

"This school is so out of control, they have so much gangs in that school. Students are caught having sex and smoking in the bathroom. They have the school on lock down for a code red and they don't even have the courtesy to call the parents to let us know whats going on. The principle is the worst, he never has time and never wants to listen to anything you bring to his attention. The only thing good about the school is the ese staff. Security is never to be found, the staff are rude and don't help for anything if you love your child please don't put them in that school its way too ghetto. The gangs are very violent and when they target you its the worst my daughter got attacked and had to be transported to the hospital and nothing was done still having problems with the gangs attacking and threatening my daughter. i hope and wish the school board takes a look at my review and see whats really going on before someone gets really hurt in that school."
