"Today was my son's first day at OPA. He's been in public school his whole life (Everglades K-8) and he actually did extremely well. But middle school is veeery different and I had to pull him out and take him to private school. I chose this school because I was familiar with it, he had gone before for speech therapy and after touring other schools, the environment of safety and belonging was the most evident here. The school is large and spacious but also not crowded with plenty of space for the students to feel comfortable. Everyone in Admin patiently answered by 100 questions with kindness. The teachers I met immediately made a connection with my son, engaging him in conversation and making him feel welcome. Today I received several updates and pictures of how well he was doing. I am very pleased. It brings me great peace of mind knowing my son is receiving the personalized academics he needs, but is also safe, in good hands, and other daily functional living skills will be targeted too. Not to mention he can soon start back up with Rebecca who I have saved in my contacts as the Speech God because she is greatly responsible for his vocabulary and speech progress! I hope he can be there until adulthood and he feels happy and complete with his new friends!!!"
