"Top notch school. My grandson went to this school last year and the atmosphere, the kindness, love and team spirit at the school were such a breath of fresh air. I wish he would've attended since kinder but am thankful for all the friendships he made with his peers and teachers last year. If only all schools in Homestead would be like this. I assume the atmosphere is this way because they have kind, encouraging and loving leadership."
"It’s, an excellent example of a great school the teachers and students are respectful the school is clean lunch’s are actually edible and tasty unlike other schools, the school is clean and well maintained I rate this a 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"
"It’s a wonderfully safe and small school. The teachers, staff, and administration at Somerset City Arts are top-notch. They create a wonderful learning environment for the kids and there are always activities available for the kids and family to participate in. There are many programs available to the students after school such as Lego club, Choir, Art club, STEM club, and others. My kid has flourished at Somerset City Arts and we could not be happier!"
"Today proved why I chose this school for my children. I give 4 stars because nothing is perfect but today I seen the best of the students and teachers. My youngest child and last of my two children had her 5th grade promotion ceremony. I have had over the years teachers that have taught my children not just the common core garbage that most agree is ridiculous but have taught them values. My one child especially has learned empathy , something parents can’t seem to teach their kids. They helped one to use strategies to help with extreme test anxiety and one to finally find her voice and step out of her comfort zone. No school is perfect, no administration is perfect but my children felt safe and valued. I shed many tears today knowing I will no longer attend their amazing Holiday and end of the year shows, all their school events and the familiar faces. I know my kids will always consider City Arts their home and in are hearts we will always be Stingrays."
"I hope this review helps any parents who are considering this school. The only reason this school gets stars from me is because of the teachers and staff. They are wonderful but they are short changed by the principal. Mrs. Suarez, the principal is the problem. How can a principal give the proper attention to a school when she is the principle at 2 schools at the same time?? Suarez runs this school as if it were a business, to make a profit, instead of it being about the students/learning. There is no "arts" here. It is a misleading title. Ask Suarez where all the money from the dollar days go and watch her get defensive (a sure sign of guilt). The money does not go towards the learning environment. The school does not have enough computers for the classroom. Suarez will tell you they have to make up money because they do not get the normal funding a public school receives from the state. She will also tell you the money goes toward the end of the year party. That party has 1 bounce house for the entire school. Also, it costs $5 for the so called "longest recess ever". It is bullying to charge kids to play outside. Bullying because if you don't pay, your kid feels left out. This is the environment the entire year, if you don't pay for any of the activities (like wearing normal clothes), you are made to feel left out. The main office has room for only 1 chair and to get to some classrooms, you have to walk through and disrupt 3 classrooms. Mrs. Suarez, you have lost many good teachers because you threaten them and make them feel uncomfortable when they speak up. This is not Cuba, empower them to give you suggestions for the future of our kids! This schools accreditation needs to be reviewed and the funds/profits audited."
