Reviews of Frankie's Pizza
"Honestly, I found nothing good about this spot. The pizza was at room temperature and tastes absolutely bland. Sausage isn't Italian sausage. Cheese didn't melt right. Reminds me of those frozen Celeste pizza. Crust was also too hard. The garlic cheese bread was drenched in oil. Pizza Hut is better than this. I said what I said."
"This place is legendary. They make a crispy square pie with what I think is meat-grinder-ground mozzarella, and a delicious topping selection. Frankie's is VERY high on my list of top pizzerias. Like right at the top with one other that I won't mention in this review.... Get your pizza half-baked and finish it at home. I eat it straight from the oven while it's still magma hot."
"Reminded me of school pizza. It was honestly the worst pizza I've ever had that was made by a legitimate pizza place. The dough was chewy yet somehow hard, and not in the crispy sort of way, almost like hard tack. The cheese had wayyyyy too much Parmesan on it which absolutely suffocated every other flavor. Furthermore, I believe they put the cheese on the pizza after cutting it, because it was melted overtop of the cut lines. This meant that whenever you pulled a slice, it took its neighboring other slices' cheese with it. The actual construction of the pizza can only be described as a "sheet pan pizza," thick to be thin crust and too thin to be a thick crust. They also clearly do not cook their pizzas at sufficient temperatures as the bottom of the slices were completely yellow, not browned or 'leopard printed' at all, like good pizza is supposed to be. The sauce was decent but it could have used more of it. I saw this online in a list of "must try Miami pizzas" and I am thoroughly disappointed."
"Even frozen pizza tastes better than the pizza from here. We ordered ten slices of the Deluxe Pizza and a Small Tomato & Cheese Pizza. No matter the size, the price is the same per slice. When we opened the pizza box it looked like they threw in other people's leftovers into the box because it was a mess inside and there was even an unexpected slice of Tomato & Cheese Pizza mixed into our Deluxe Pizza box. The slices of pizza are cut in a small square shape so you're going to need at least two slices to equate to a regular triangular shape pizza slice. Aside from the unappetizing looks, the flavor was gross and this is the opinion of three people besides myself that were sharing this pizza. One order of garlic rolls contains about six small pieces put into a bag with so much oil and garlic you are guaranteed to have oily hands just reaching into the bag for a piece. Each piece tasted on the hard side rather than soft. This was a takeout order on a Friday evening around 8pm and the place didn't look busy."
"I actually stopped here today just to take a picture of their vintage neon sign! I walked inside, and it is really just a carry out pizza place. I ordered a slice, and it was literally like two dollars! The girl at the desk was super friendly, awesome service, and I was surprised at how totally delicious this little square slice of pizza was. I will be stopping here every time I’m in that neighborhood."
