"I am so grateful to have found Megin and her company. My daughter was 8 months old when she started and is now 9 months. I can swim but am by no means a great swimmer and so greatly feared the thought of teaching her myself. My husband felt the same way and so we were so thankful when we found this group! They are so kind and patient. They made my daughter feel so comfortable and took her from being terrified of water in her face to her purposefully dunking her face herself. She loves the water now! She also is able to climb out of the pool on her sun shelf without assistance and is showing strong abilities to climb out the other sides with some assistance. She was never expected to swim at this age, but she clearly now has the foundation to be be safe and learn to swim! I also am so much more confident as I now know how to teach her and progress even after her lessons end! "My wife and I have three kids (3 year old and 18 month twins) and have been researching swim academies in Naples. We live out in The Golden Gate Estates and really wanted to find a school that wouldn't take an hour battling traffic to get to all the way in town. We were so excited when we discovered Maureen's Swim Academy! Having such a high-quality school just minutes away is huge. When we went for our first session, we were impressed with the swimming pool and facilities. Everything is brand new at her private residence, and having no distractions around is a big plus. You can tell the massive pool was designed for training (varying depths from about five inches on the huge sun-deck to over seven feet in the deep end). There is even a new exterior bathroom and changing room for client comfort and convenience. The owner / instructor Megin has more certifications than I can list so we were immediately comfortable with her experience. If your child is shy and scared of water (like our little girl was) you need an instructor with patience, calming reassurance and the right demeanor to work with them. In just a week our daughter went from only being comfortable with putting her feet in the pool to holding her breath and going completely underwater! It was an unbelievable transition to see her go from scared, uncooperative and screaming to excited, smiling and confident in the water! Even when it comes to training the twins, Megin has instructions geared specifically towards any age group, even babies. With living out and around so many bodies of standing water (especially during rainy season) it is well worth the peace of mind knowing our kids will now have the swimming skills to safely handle any encounters with water.
