Reviews of Brock Optical, Inc | Magiscope
"The Brock Magiscope is very sturdy and is clearly built with high quality materials but it's simple to use for adults and kids. It's really impressive that it doesn't need batteries or electricity. I expect this Magiscope to be used in my family for generations. This is definitely a five star product!"
"My Magiscope is one of my most treasured possessions! In the field out hiking or on the dining room table...always at hand. I look through it at something magical...unseen by the naked eye...It makes me wonder how much there really is to know. Thank you Brock for inspiring a life of curiosity."
"Superb scope! As a biology professor and mom, I bring this Magiscope on all field outings. I live in San Diego, so I generally use it like a classroom dissecting scope, but since it is is so light weight, sleek and easy to use, I can take it anywhere. I like to take it to the tide pools to view tiny crustaceans and sea weeds, or I take it to other ecosystems like a desert patch or leaf litter to see insects or flowers up close. The ocular lenses are held together like a tube, which manually slides up or down to focus. It is very solid and stream lined and easy to find a sharp focus. A classroom dissecting scope would not be possible in the field, due to needing an electric current for the lighting. But this scope has a piece that absorbs and redirects sunlight- sorry I can't describe that differently. I recently purchased additional higher power lenses to add onto the scope, but I haven't used them yet. The original scope has (I think I remember right) 20x, which is perfect for field work, but the added lenses will allow my scope to see up to100x, which would be useful for cell staining in a classroom. I am also a mom of elementary aged kids. One need not be a college student to figure this scope out. Just find an insect or anything else interesting, and start viewing. My 6 year old loved finding dead bugs under the desk (cringe) and leaves and seeds and things, he'd be fascinated for hours. Soon I am hoping to show them onion cells and leaf stomata, and this scope would be perfect."
"What an INCREDIBLE experience! Our daughters had the opportunity to meet the founder and inventor...AND explore ALL THINGS SCIENCE. As parents, we're ALL ABOUT kinesthetic learning and work hard to ensure our daughters get outside and away from their screens. The Magiscope...what a COOL invention that kept them curious and exploring for hours! Highly recommended!"
"Awesome microscope! It truly is amazing what you can see under the Magiscope. I absolutely love it's simple design as well as the accessory so you can take pictures with your phone. We're huge into sustainability, and the fact it doesn't take batteries is also a major plus for me."
