"There are several schools under this address and map. The location of "AMI Kids" and "Sara Scott Harley Middle School" are addressed as one address. The other program is the one my teenage son participates in. The address is 6423 and under the AMI kids address. His program is called, "Access to Education." There are several different named programs here but I do not know all the programs. This multi-grouped specialty school just started this year 2017/18 and maybe some are still in the testing mode for Manatee County Public School systems? The only reason I did not give the school five stars is because of the crummy-seedy location. Many "Access" parents were very upset to hear we were moving to an already county closed down school after we were promised for three years for our own school. We rented a wing at Johnson Middle but was kicked out for county re-zoning. I think overall Administration personal are hired and leave so those promises where thrown out the window when Dr. Janet Hurley and many staff left the program, she was key to its success! Then the program was pushed into Harley Middle at which we were made a laundry list of promises; like we only shared the school with one other program, a name change. By the beginning of the school year many different programs landed here out of sheer "no where to put them" and for the non-believers we were not given any other alternatives but homeschool in our zoned school areas. Our children can not be placed at regular schools. One would think that students that make three times$ the seat count$ would be able to be in a school that wasn't in a high crime, closed down surrounding schools, police presence, drug infested area? "Access to Education" was neatly put away like all the other "programs" in Manatee County and I feel bad for the students everyday! I just hope the students truly get what they each need to succeed and they are treated with the upmost respect!"
