Reviews
"I had a mix of decent and outstanding teachers, I loved them. Probably the worst set of administrators I have ever seen in a school. Strict to say the least, few are *discriminate against students, and are no help for when you actually need them.* For the students, with such a heavy population of them, varied from being friendly, snobby, to flat out bullies. Last but not least, the multiple threats and lockdowns at the school. It made me doubt my safety at Winderemere. All of these factors led me into withdrawing from Windermere. I would not recommend enrolling into this school."
"Completely dissatisfied with this school. Changing schedules 6 weeks into a grading period without completed work changing over, watching an Athletic Director shove his finger into a parents chest and verbally assault them without repercussion, changing to canvas but ignoring the problems of the system. At least the principal is almost gone!"
"If you were lucky to see last night’s concert you know this new school is diligently working to make our kids not only musical superstars but also successful and confident future leaders. Broadway has nothing on our kids, and a message for The Juilliard School… look no further, all your talent can be found at Windermere HS! Go Wolverines!"
"Cons: •Administration treats the student body as if they are 9. •Laptops and heavy use of technology makes learning here very fake and inorganic (a few of my teachers have said they are not allowed to do lectures. Though this is my personal preference, being lectured is far better than looking at a screen for 7 hours). •some teachers aren't the greatest teaching wise •some policies aren't necessary, which adds to my claim that the staff treats the student body as if they are small children (ex. no headphones in hallway policy) Neutral/Meh: •Student Morale Pros: •There are some absolutely fantastic teachers here. They make the courses (especially the AP courses) less intimidating + more interesting, and make me enjoy this school for the most part. Hands down the best part of this school and why you should come here. •Clean and well-designed campus •Many of my teachers are trying to avoid using the laptops for the entire period (administration does not understand that staring at a laptop 7+ hours a day is very straining). •Many clubs/activities/courses available •Even though the administration is unnecessarily strict, they are organized. •Even though the student morale is meh, the community's morale is sky-high. •Not crowded 8/10 (Review for inaugural year [may not apply later on]) Post Scriptum: Always check the most recent reviews made by mature/open minded students. For example, don't take someone's review seriously if they childishly say that a certain rule or some other trivial thing is the sole/primary reason they rated the school 1-2 stars. (The no headphones in the hallway does not make this school absolute garbage, its just an inconvenience.) Also, don't trust a review that's only positive, since there is no such thing as a "perfect school"."
"As everyone else has said, they treat us like 9 year olds here. They give us no freedoms and it feels like we're robots. They only let us use our phones before and after school and in the cafeteria where there isn't any service. Also, some of my teachers don't even teach. The HERO points are stupid too. I also felt like I was going to die on that gosh darn elevator. Not excited to spend 4 years here."
