"Jay is a great flight instructor, I recommend him highly. I earned my Private Pilot’s License in 1978, and Instrument rating in 1979, thus have had the opportunity to fly with many instructors over the decades! Jay is one of the best! I did my instrument proficiency check with him, and he was great. I was also transitioning to an all glass cockpit. As an old analog guy accustomed to flying needles, acclimating to EFIS was the hard part not the flying! Jay was great at this and I highly recommend him for anyone needing instrument training or transition to glass cockpit! Given his personality, I suspect he would also be great with a student pilot just getting started, but that is not my perspective and I have not actually observed him in that role.
