Reviews of Hudson High School
"The school is more of a prison than a school. The way they run the school is terrible and most of the teachers hate it there. If I could give less than a star I would."
"This school is a joke, principal LaRoche will only give your student the time of day is they are apart of the football team. Has no sympathy for foster students who have had a rough life, instead of opening doors for opportunities he closes them. Was told to my face that if a student wants to speak to MR. LaRoche that he doesn’t have the time, that’s what guidance counselors are for. Wonder why academically this school is rated VERY LOW. There are some good teachers but again the principal only cars about his sports team and everything else gets pushed aside. You must be proud!! What a shame. Go take a trip to a real school to know how one succeeds academically. You obviously are confused, you ARE a “PRINCIPAL”!! NOT A FOOTBALL COACH!!"
"Very shameful school with even more shameful practices. Their "On-Track" system is hopelessly flawed, the higher up staff don't care about the true well-being of their students, they have no shred of decency or compassion. One of the requirements for being "On-Track", you must have NO MORE than a total of 4 absences, excused or otherwise. If you have just 5, oh well. Once you're 'Off' track, no prom, you don't get to eat with the rest of the junior or senior class in their designated lunch room, "On-Track" is a sham of a system meant only to alienate and shame students into giving the school the grades and test scores that they want, mental health of the students be dxmned. Cheer leader coaches have shamed and threatened girls with expulsion from their teams if they spoke to news sources about the unfairness of the "On-Track" system, teachers with harmful views and biases are regularly overlooked and ignored because they have the favor of the higher up school staff, while other teachers are tricked and coerced into dismantling school activities and clubs that would have been great assets to the students and their well-being. This school is a mockery of what the American school system should be, and the principal should be utterly ashamed of what this school puts its students through."
"I adopted a 16 yr old who came from a very bad sitsuation, in an out of group homes, foster care etc. She missed most of the school year last year cause of being pulled from her home into the states custody. Since I have had her she finished summer school, attends Hudson High and does night school and is busting her butt and has A,B,B,C and one F. The F is in Algebra and is a subject she can’t comprehend. The teacher tells students to refer to their Math notes when asked for help. The child has a tutor as of recently but after literally busting her butt for over 5 months she is being told she cannot attend “Home coming” cause her GPA is too low. Well it is not the child’s fault as she was pulled from her home last year. The principal is NOT willing to let the child attend even though her circumstances. I could understand if she has had almost a whole school year to pull her GPA up but she literally has had less than 2 months to do so. This child has never been able to attend home coming or prom cause of previous home life. She started a new life now and deserves the door to be open in her path to success. This principal should be ashamed by shutting her out."
"I was the best student in the history of the school during my time there. I studied both middle school and high school there. I studied various subjects like English, reading, math, science, social studies, and computer skills. I couldn't write with a pencil, so I had to use a computer to generate the correct answers to assignments from textbooks and worksheets. During my time in high school, my class schedule had changed each year. After graduating high school on June 1, 2012, I returned there for just five days during the first three weeks of the 2012-13 school year, but left the school on September 6, 2012. On Memorial Day in 2013, I finally received a high school diploma from the school."
