We only meet on Zoom - which is great because I am so busy - and I live 2,500 miles away. Meeting on Zoom helps me maximize my time. Instead of driving back and forth to a lesson, I would rather spend that time playing the piano. That time adds up. Another big bonus is that I get to have a lesson on my own piano! How the Zoom Lessons Work: He has two views available: a side view so I can see what his wrists and fingers are doing vertically as well as an overhead shot so I can see how he moves laterally on the keys. For my camera angle, I set the laptop camera on the side of the piano looking across the keyboard so Alex can see me (including my hands, arms, etc.) If you decide to go with Alex, my best advice is to trust him from the beginning - do everything he tells you to. As he hears you play, he will construct a plan for you to achieve your musical goals.
