"I’m going to write an honest review as a parent who has had their child in victory for two years, as I don’t see any already posted. This school is extremely small, residing in an old office building, which is beautiful, but offers NOTHING for extracurricular activities for the students. There are no clubs, no sports, no student government, not even a play ground. Nothing, outside of “duties” like safety patrols and line leaders. Due to the size of the school and amount of students, the classes are extremely small. Some classes were so small this past 2021-2022 year, they had to combine them together, such as 4th and 5th grade. Most of the grades had 4-6 kids enrolled. Because of the size of the school, they don’t offer buses or even vans for school trips. The students parents are in charge of coordinating ride sharing to get the children to and from trips. As a parent at Victory, be prepared to be MUCH more involved with this school than any other school your child has attended before. Victory relies heavily on the parents for everything, which of course includes extra funding outside of the tuition. Which, tuition! My child’s tuition was almost $800 a month since we don’t quality for a scholarship. That’s more than most of the other private Christian schools in the area that offer all grades, sports, a play ground and extra curricular activities, small/normal class sizes, etc. Tuition of course doesn’t cover aftercare, which was $350 a month. Aftercare cost were much higher than any school I researched in the county. The after care teacher, and of course there’s only one, was wonderful. Ms. Alicia was probably the most normal teacher/ staff member we encountered at Victory. Everyone else seemed like they were creating a facade for the school. However, there were numerous times aftercare was canceled the day before leaving our family in struggle to take time off of work on such short notice. Until Victory Academy, I have never heard about aftercare being canceled unless their was a natural disaster or emergency. Although the classes are extremely small, the teachers still seemed very overwhelmed with their classes. After speaking to parents through out the year, it’s clear there is no process on how teachers handle children having children like behavior and not perfect little statues in the class room. It seems the standards for the children's behavior is extremely high and offers little to no room for kids to be kids. The teachers are also rotated because the staff is so small. This past year, the first time teacher of Kindergarten was also the music teacher? The school had 8 teachers for the entire school listed in the yearbook. Curriculum. I read through the schools handbook before enrolling my child, and everything seemed to be on par, I was wrong. Now after enrolling my child into another school, it’s very clear that VICTORY ACADEMY’s curriculum is not on par with the other Marion County schools or even the state of Florida schools. My child who was excelling at Victory, is now at risk at falling behind their classmates. We had no choice but to enroll our child into tutor program with their teacher to catch them up to where they need to be for this school year. Its very disappointing to spend thousands a month at Victory only to find out that my child is now behind. It most certainly makes me wonder, what was my tuition check spent on? Were the teachers that overwhelmed that they couldn’t process the curriculum? I could continue, but overall I think as a Parent you really need to complete extensive research into Victory before considering it for your child. After doing research into the school’s history, sun-biz account, numerous location changes and severe lack of growth, it’s clear the only reason it’s still in business is because of the parents tuition payments, forced “giving” along with mandatory volunteering."
"My two boys Love Victory Academy's & their teachers. They come home everyday & tell us what a Great day we had at school. They Love their school and never want to miss a day. Teachers are outstanding and so helpful. You can't get any better then that!"
