Reviews of Hidden River VA Clinic
"I am actually shocked I feel compelled to leave a 5 star review at for a VA facility, and reserve my right to change the rating based on 20 years of previous experience with the beauocracy. I am new patient to the woman's clinic in tampa, and I saw Dr Packing for the first time this morning. This was the first time in all of my experience with the VA, where a Dr took the time to listen to my concerns, explain likely causes, and identify potential actions I can take upon myself to improve my situation. She also continued to provide the referrals to definitively pinpoint the root causes of the issues I described to her. I have been a veteran long enough to know that I may become frustrated with the timeliness and procedure that results from beaurocratic health care, but I was very pleased to have an interaction with a PCP at the VA that seemed to be backed by compassion and desire to help me improve the issues I have been experiencing. I truly hope for all veterans, that my experience with a specific team and doctor today is actually indicative of a new path forward for this organization."
"I love coming to this women's center! It is a comfortable, safe space where I go to get my care and see my primary. The Staff are engaging and answer your questions respectfully where you can feel confident to find what you're looking for and have your questions answered. I like that it really does revolve around women and making us feel secure in our care."
"One of the worst clinics i have ever been to . The women’s clinic mental health unit is horrible. I asked my doctor to review paperwork for a job accommodation they refused and said they don’t sign paperwork. It’s weird cause if the VA doesn’t sign or release information why do your have a ROI area? They give you an attitude when you don’t make your appointments but will not give you the proper documentation to be able to give your job the information so you can actually MAKE THE APPOINTMENT! I completely understand why veterans lose their minds , the so call HELP that people say is there is NOT . They prefer you be crazy and unstable before they actually help you ."
"The absolute worst care of lack there of I have ever experienced. First I went to VA emergency room because I have been suffering from excruciating knee pain that does not allow me to walk and they refused to do an MRI scan of my knees, the ER doctor told me it was probably sprained and sent me on my way with a muscle relaxer. The doctor advised that I would get a phone call within 3 days to make an appointment for an MRI, it’s been 3 weeks and no call, no appointment. In pain I went to a civilian doctor and when we got the MRI back both of my knees had complex Meniscus tears, MCL tear and 4mm cyst on one knee. I now need surgery. Today I went to my yearly physical after taking 2 hours of non paid leave from work and drove an hour in traffic to make it here and they said that my appointment was at 230 when I was told it was at 3. The nurse Joyce from the women’s center nonchalantly came to me to tell me that I wouldn’t be seen because she leaves at 330pm. Mind you there was NO ONE being seen or waiting to be seen at this office except for myself and my labs had unusual results that I desperately needed to discuss with my doctor (Dr. Packing) in the women’s clinic. But again, the VA does not want provide the service it’s veterans so desperately need and I’m being forced to go home without care because a nurse wants to sit around doing nothing for the last 30 minutes of her shift. I am no disappointed in this VA healthcare system of Tampa. I haven’t even mentioned the VA neurologist that complete ignored my cries for help because I have been suffering from migraines for over 12 years, she just told me to take Tylenol and go to work. It’s almost as if they wanted to cover up all of our ailments and diseases for reasons that I do not understand. Somebody with power and dignity in this organization please please please help your veterans, this is out of control. My appointment was today at 3pm in the hidden river va clinic women’s clinic Dr. packing, going home after having been denied care for the 3rd time in 3 months within this VA health care system. The office was completely empty of other patients and there were 2 employees in the office and the nurse that came out to turn me away saying she leaves in 30 minutes. All they needed to do was read me my lab work and set me up with an appointment to see a specialist if needed."
"The very best of the VA operates out of this Hidden gem offering phenomenal care, friendly staff, caring physicians, dentists to the greeters at the front entrance. (Dr. Moore, Combat Vet Nurse Ron, Dr. Patel) in dental do their very best to offer vets the best! VA care 100% of the time. They have nothing to sell you on during your visit as their focus is YOU the patient and not some healthcare profit center down the road. If you're a VET and leave a one star for this facility then you need to FIX that as the people serving those who served need to KNOW that they're doing their BEST sometimes under difficult circumstances"
