Reviews of Morton Plant Hospital- Turley Family Health Center
"My husband Robert was in Morton Plant last week for 5 days. We requested he see a Urologist during his stay. We asked on at least 2 occasions. No referral was given or ordered. Even if we didn’t ask, which we did, twice, an Urology consult should have been ordered. We were advised by the nurse Manager that he could not see a specialist without an order or referral. He had to have urine extracted from his bladder twice because his bladder was full, and he couldn’t urinate. Medicine to help his bladder and abdomen weren’t given to help him. He only had medicine to clear his infection. The rest of the meds were given later. We had an inexperienced doctor with no supervision who really didn’t listen or understand our concerns. Whoever was supervising didn’t do their job. We are thoroughly disappointed in the care my husband received. Thoroughly. Yes, his infection was treated. He had a UTI, an enlarged Prostate, an infection, not able to pee, pain in his abdomen, a fever, and more. We have an appointment with the Urologist tomorrow because he is still in pain, and has trouble going to the bathroom. We will seek out another practice, one with experience."
"I'm quite shocked at the one-star reviews because this is a top-notch facility, in my opinion. I've been going here for years and never had the negative experiences some talk about. I'm suspect of them when they only have 1 or just a few reviews; it seems like fake accounts, I don't know. All I know is that this place is phenomenal, and I am truly grateful to be a long-time patient here. Many doctors from here have shown me compassion, care, and understanding, have visited me in the hospital, and have even saved my life... this is also a teaching facility, which means the doctors oversee the medical student doctors before they move on, and it stated this in the paperwork you supposedly read and signed before becoming a patient here. If you're not comfortable with that, then this is not the place for you, I guess. But try not to be so judgmental right off the bat. Their women's center is excellent. They even have special doctors and specific times for geriatric patients only. (One of the many reasons why I'm recommending my mother who is new to town here.) Don't quote me on this, but their lab is open from like 8:30ish(?) until noon for blood workup... which can be convenient to have right on site, instead of having to make appointments with lab corp or quest diagnostics. They accept most insurances, including Medicare and Medicaid. They are affiliated with Morton Plant Hospital, which I also highly recommend. The positives list goes on and on. I can't sing their praises enough. So again, don't judge right away from a single bad experience and give Turley Family Health Center a chance, I say. Last but not least, THANK YOU for consistently taking care of me!"
"Cannot leave a message on a Saturday or Sunday to cancel for Monday appointment. Now they are going to consider it a "no show" because there is no way for a patient to leave a message on a Saturday (48 hours in advance) or Sunday (24 hours) for a Monday appointment. The only option was the answering service, to page the doctor on call for emergencies. Cannot leave a message- whatsoever. Staff is very friendly, but like many others have stated, their phone service/system needs a major improvement."
