Reviews of Heart of Florida Health Center Central
"they are so ughhh! my foot has been broke for almost a month and they are not sending my referral off for an ortho!!! I can't drive, been out of work and in pain this really sucks and no excuses for it!!!!"
"Called to make sure my Florida Blue was accepted as my insurance provider stated. Lady put me on hold. After 21 mins and 51 sec I disconnected the call. Same lady called back and asked how she could help me. I said I was on hold for 20 mins and hung up. She corrected me and said 14 mins, she said she had someone before me and asked again how she could help me. It was like she never put me on hold FOR 14 MINS. I told her no thanks I will be find a different PCP, thank you and disconnected the call. Petty person."
"Absolutely the most disorganized place I have ever been too. They requested I bring in paperwork from emergency room to scan into my account and never gave it back to me. When I called the office I got the run around saying someone would call me. They never did! Three days later I finally was able to actually talk to someone in the office for them to tell me they do not have it. Absolutely unacceptable now I have no documentation that I was at the emergency room and the lady in the office says well you can just call the emergency room and get it however that's not the point. You requested I bring it in to scan into my account and you have nothing on file... How is that. I have no Medical insurance and get treated poorly here but I have no choice. I am contacted the attorney general in regards to all that has happened with me and visits here. The below person stated someone called me and they did yesterday to tell me they will look into and contact me again. I have not received a message stating they are sending paperwork to me yet so this has not been resolved."
"Once again this medical department has lied to my face. I had open heart surgery in March of 2023,a quadruple bypass. I have been placed on medication and I was also sick. When my appointment was made the woman on the phone told me they would refill my medication before I moved and give me refills so I didn't run out of my blood thinners and BP medication as well as my insulin and other medications. When I left the DR. told me she was going to call in a 90 day supply of all my medications. However I got to the pharmacy and she did not. Now it took me over 6 months to first get an appointment with H.F.H.C. so a 3 month supply isn't a reach and hopefully my next medical center I go to cares just a little bit more for their patients than the Dr I saw today did because now hopefully they will call in a 3 month supply of my medicines so I don't end up dying from not having my medication like I should. BUT THEY MADE SURE THEY RAN ALL 3 TEST ON ME TO SOAK THE INSURANCE FOR MONEY. I left a message with the answering service for someone there who actually cares about their patients so I will have refills on my medications and not run out. THE PA OR DR. SHOULDN'T HAVE LIED TO ME AND TELL ME SHE WAS CALLING IN A 90 DAY SUPPLY ON MY PRESCRIPTION LIKE SHE DID. Today was her last day so maybe that's why she didn't really care about my health? Unless it was a mistake and someone did do their job right then I apologized for this review and will remove it as soon as my medications are called in properly ."
"A terrible place to go if you have health problems and the clerical staff lacks sufficient knowledge and training. Their lack of communication skills as well as their lack of compassion, is appalling. I have been sick for months. It takes weeks to get in. I had to cancel my last 2 appointments because I didn't have the money to pay. Still sick, I called the front desk and begged to be seen without money and was given an appointment. At my appointment, the rude little dark haired receptionist at the dirty little downtown office demanded payment almost immediately after I told her how grateful I was to finally be seen even though I had no money. She also told me that it would be $150 because I didn't have proof of income. I was so humiliated I left in tears. Not one to give up easily, I called to make another appointment. I was #12 in the queue. When the phones get that busy, the receptionists just start hanging up on people so I went to my patient portal to request an appointment. I'm still waiting. All I can say is if they are your PCP, don't get sick. Update: I just left the ER. Apparently, all this time, I have been fighting a little virus, but my body couldn't do it on it's because of severe mineral deficiency that probably showed up in the blood work that I did for Heart of Florida that was never gone over with me because I didn't have the money to pay. Got a good laugh though. My discharge papers told me to follow up with Heart of Florida in 2-3 days. Update: Someone named Judy left me a voice-mail. I just tried calling back. I was number 10 in the queue, so I decided to wait. Counted down. A few minutes after I was told I was number 3 in the queue, I heard ringing, then different music. Another 5 minutes went by and I got hung up on. It's lunch time for them I guess. ER doctor wanted me seen no later than yesterday. At this rate, I will die before I am seen. The saddest part is, I have lymphoma. And Heart of Florida knows this because Regina in the Belleview location is the one who told me. I even sent her a letter last month begging her to fit me in but I never heard back. Maybe I will try again this afternoon. Another update, same day as above, Sept 19, 2023, 1:40 pm, I tried calling back. I got patched right through. I actually got excited. It rang twice then silence. Nobody spoke. There was no music. Just silence. I waited 10 minutes and eventually hung up. Update: It is September 28th and, since I don't have all day to try to get through, I went to my patient portal and requested another appointment, since my last one was ignored and cleared off my patient portal. We shall see if they get back to me. I will continue to update this review until I get seen. I have been trying to get in since June. Update: It's been 3 weeks and I still haven't been seen! Apparently, though, if you request an appointment on your patient portal, Judy will call you the next day. If you miss her call, she tells you to call back on the main line, as if you can get through. But if you request enough times through your patient portal, and leave a scathing review, they will just make you an appointment. Judy told me that they had a cancelation and they can see me on the 1st! Six weeks after my ER visit! Unfortunately I will be back in the ER before then."
