"My wife and I enjoyed our Saturday lunch. Not sure why so many negative reviews, but we didn’t have any issues. We were seated promptly and our plates were removed each time we finished and drinks were refilled on a timely manner. Food was good and plenty to choose from. So many choices and I didn’t get to try them all. Food I ate included grilled steaks, brisket, ribs, fried chicken, wings, seafood boil, teriyaki chicken, lo mein, fried fish, and sweet plantains, orange slices, banana pudding, ice cream for dessert. Definitely full belly to the max!"
"Upgraded atmosphere and buffet from Golden Corral previous ownership! Delicious Southern favorites and salad bar. Numerous shrimp dishes and Asian dishes as well! Even had Chinese style donuts that I have not been able to find since visiting Huanglongxi! They are amazing! Friendly and helpful staff! Comfortable and well kept seating areas. Will be back:)"
"This is a case of Golden Corral meeting the Great Wall of China with the customer winning out. First getting into Chow's can be a challenge if you are heading North on Southside. You have to find an opening while making a U-Turn so you are heading south on Southside. Parking is plentiful however when busy can be a challenge. Entered and taken to our booth. Unlike GC you don't pay for your Buffet till after you have eaten. Booths are comfortable and clean 5 ⭐ with your drink order taken by a server...ours was Valene who was absolutely pleasant a nice 5 ⭐ employee. Now the food. Salad Bar is ok but didn't find any Romaine Lettuce but plenty of toppings, dressing and very good crab salad and egg salad so that's a 5 ⭐ area. The next area was the fried foods, chicken, wings, shrimp and more. All were tasty, plentiful and fresh so 5 ⭐. Next I tried the BBQ area and the Beef selections, Brisket was terrible, though and tasteless. Let me combine all the Beef selections into this. Broccoli Beef, Beef and Peppers pus the Brisket were at best 1 ⭐. Now chicken and all fish selections were 5 ⭐. Soups were also good with Hot and Sour being a real standout 5 ⭐. Desert area is good but could use a few more exciting items so 4 ⭐. Putting it all together a few little things cause the 4 ⭐ rating but not one of them enough to prevent you or us from returning. Prices are good as id the food so see you there in the future."
"This was our first visit since this location was Golden Corral. We enjoyed the food choices very much. There are a number of Chinese food choices in lieu of some of the southern comfort foods that used to be served. I found many of the foods to be pretty darn cold, which was disappointing because they were very tasty otherwise, albeit salty. The place is looking a little bit worn, but you really can't beat the price. If the prices were to go up, my rating would have to come down. But for what you pay, it really is worth the stop. Shout out for the Madeline cookies, ham and pot roast. Well done!"
"This is the only buffet in Jacksonville that is worth eating at. Flavor is the key, and some items lacked it. The salad bar is extensive with a large variety of items to choose from, including: a seafood salad, 3 types of macaroni/pasta salads. My favorite was the 3-bean. I thought it had the most flavor and salt ratio. The southern food was my least favorite. I thought the blacked-eyed peas and collard greens could have been spiced up a bit. However, the candied yams were yummy. Then again, I'm a sucker for roasted marshmallows. There is a fried section that looked pleasing to the eye. The Asian cuisine was my favorite. I didn't try every everything, because the variety was so large. My favorite was the walnut shrimp. Overall, it was pretty delicious and satisfying. I will definitely return. Keep up the great work!!"
